Patrick, i'm not power addict and like you, I only drive 110-130 at highway. I could safely say that overtaking with 2 person inside isn't an issue, even when going uphill (not steep). However, the engine will have to put in extra effort with 4-5 person inside or extra luggage in its massive boot.

However, the safety features and the electro-hydraulic steering on the turbo are 2 of the features which I wish was included as part of the NA package.

Being said that, after close to one year of ownership, I never regretted choosing NA over turbo :-D

dear all 408 bros, so far is ur 408 got any minor or small problem?
I heard my SA said 408 is much more stable then 207, so far no any big compliant about this model, maybe only few. not like 207, all come in different complaint 

mine is having the auto lighting and auto wiping problem, already sent back for few times, the problems didn't soft but come back with lot's of scratches 

Hi guys, I getting my 408 Turbo 2mths ago. My petrol consumption from the pass 2mth until now is stay between 19~22L/100KM. I did do a record and it shows that every 50L of petrol can only last for average around 250km. May I know is that normal with this high petrol consumption ? I am staying in a small town with no highway and a lots of traffic light.

Basically when buying a car we will consider driving pleasure, safety and of course also the interior, exterior and features, service support, maintenance, etc. The decision is not only driving dynamic alone, also more nice and fine interior, acceptable exterior and some accessories as well.

Even for my wife that know nothing about car, after test drive both cars, she straight away say 508 and insist 508, despite I try to tell her the pain we may need to go through due to car breakdown, higher maintenance and poor service from Peugeot.

Anyway, eventually I am the one who have to deal with this and not her.

Nice sound system (heard that 1.8 HU is not ori and suck big time)

Very sporty and sexy looking car

Cons
Handling suck big time.. woobling left and right when hit on uneven road.. Even Mazda 3 is better than Elantra
Engine sound suck big time when pedal to metal.. the engine like screaming for help above 4K RPM.. 
Although on paper the power figure is highest in it's class.. but I can really feel it..felt under power on stand still and pickup
I have try to be gentle on the pedal.. max I get is 20cent/KM town driving

Nice engine note when accelerate
Needless to say.. Powerfull!!
Handling are top notch
more spacious than Elantra
Steering feedback is precise and confident when maneuver at corner.. but prolong drive I feel kinda a fatigue with the constant uneven road feel transfer to the steering

Air con not than cool in the afternoon.. even you turn to "LO" 
Sound system suck big time
Higher fuel consumption
Very very addictive..every time I drive alone without CFO beside me.. I tend to pedal to metal.. just to hear the faint sound of "pssshhtt" 
Boring back side look
really really loud engine fan noise
Dusty brake pad and with this kind of multi spoke rim.. wash me die!
Overall.. Elantra is like Korea Kpop singer.. heavily disguise in cosmetic sugery.. just for the look.. while 408T is like truffles.. looks is not that appealing but wait till you taste it

Lancer,Mazda 3 even the latest Mazda 6 can only smell smoke of out Pug la. At 200kmh our Pug is effortless, those engines will be screaming at that speed. Need Mazda 6, 2.4L to keep up with us.

I think your FC is normal. I usually do 130kmh urban drive,FC 9L/100km. City drive,FC 12L/100km. Best urban FC was 8.5L/100km,but have to drive uncle style. With turbo,can't do that la.

My friend owned a 308 vti told me, very expensive to maintain. Just 3 years and seldom drive only 30k+ km. But already change many times battery which cost 500+ in sc and many parts changed after 3 years. Every Time in sc, the bill is 4 digits. Very costly.

i don't mean to bash, but merely relating a story, cousin of a colleague bought a ford fiesta, have problem, not sure what kind , after 4 months driving it, and were left at Sime Darby Connexion Service centre. The story goes that 2 weeks, no news about having it fixed, then found out :

THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, AND THE CAR HAS BEEN SENT TO OUTSIDER TO FIX IT.

So far I don't think Peugeot 's Technician can be that bad in comparison

do note that their 2.0 is a 6-speed tiptronic while their 1.6 is the same engine used in the 207 sedan sold here with the old 4-speed transmission.

they do not have the 1.6 turbo there.

from what i saw the last few days there, i kinda like it pretty much.

by the way, just to add on, in china, their 508 comes in a 2.0L and 2.3L. both n/a and both equipped with 6-speed autos. again, no turbo engines.
