anyone got slow internet today? or just me? 8mbps but since yesterday only got around 2-3mbps. i did suspect my splitter are no good, yesterday talking on phone got some cracking noise while the last one i use phone maybe 1 week ago, no cracking noise.

which ADSL splitter you guys using?

Guys do u use the normal router given to installation or have bought a new router? Sometimes i cant even get youtube hd.. sometimes even medium is buffering.. gaming is no problem though for me.. located at gambang pahang.. and if u using different router what is a cheap recommendation?

What u meant is that just straight connect without splliter? Meaning no phone connection? Does it really matter that much? Although i dont think anyone would call my phone number

The problem is on 8Mbps when there is something else using the internet then it slows down significantly unlike Unifi 30Mbps.

Just curious about what modem is TM currently offering for new Streamyx 8Mbps subscriptions, since I'm considering to terminate my current line once contract ends to get new equipment with a new subscription (as long as it's still RM140, and it's OK to do like that right?), or maybe will just use the other fixed line number in my house to apply.

rather than doing it that and loosing "loyalty", freedom from contract, going to bottom of the queue in port requests, loosing current POTS number, etc etc, you might just go buy new modem on your own.

Guys, my downstream rate change to 8191 kbps..
Last time was 10000 kbps something...
Doing speed test never got 8mbps anymore...
Playing around 6.8mbps to 7 Mbps...
When call TM they said TM only promise 80% of the speed...
WTF...how can change to old speed again?

I don't think there's a way for us users to change it. Try lodging more complaints to TM and if they don't raise it back better complaint to MCMC since this is obviously some kind of 'downgrade' without user consent. shakehead.gif

You've been miscapped. Your rates should be roughly similar to my current rate:

Your current situation had happened to me twice before. One time I rebooted the modem and it went back to normal. Another time rebooting didn't work and I had to phone 100 and lodge a complaint...it took them 2 working days to resolve it. Similar miscaps had also happened to me when I was on 4mbps...was capped at 2000+kbps on at least 4 occasions.

On a tangent, I didn't bother to accept TM's "surprise" gifts. Bugger 'em!

Hmm... So every 8Mbps Streamyx account should have 10000 Kbps downstream rate? Mine also 8188 Kbps only.
