What are the markings on the cabinets referring to?
Apparently the first few alphabets are the location. But behind, there are "V", "F" etc...

My nearest TM cabinet is tag as V-003V, printed on top of it. This is considered as the 2nd cabinet. a year back I seen the contractor laying cables within that cabinet and a sign board saying TM is laying HSBB network, I don't expect unifi is coming as my area is a kampung area. But since the laying new cables taking place, TM is offering 4mbps and I am 1 of the early customer subscribed to it, and the same goes to this 8mbps. I guess I am getting the benefits from the new infrastructure.

During my travel journeys to rural roads, I found many wires with yellow-line being wired into kampungs and having seen the black fibre closure boxes that looks like a long plastic water tumbler, I know they are fibre cables.

Inside each fibre cable there are many individual strands for long term cost saving.

Instead of expanding fibre optics throughout Malaysia, why TM just not implement VDSL2 technology for both high-rise and landed houses?
Well at least they have just to built another DSLAM with VDSL2 technology.... and BOOM!!!
Your copper line now able to handle 10mbps or 5mbps for further area apart DSLAM.

u can call 100 and tell them they need to increase the dowload rate from the cabinet..

if he technician only set at ngam2 8192..for sure u wont get the speed that u supposed to get..
(1024 x 8) = 8192 kbps..
but he only set at 8191..
that is below par..
the technician should increase it..

hope this helps..

I think 'R' is the most basic one provide with 1M only.
Currently I am on 'R' cabinet 0.4KM and request to upgrade to 4M package also can't.

After I taking a lot of photo and make a complaint to SKMM, TM now pulling a cable from 'V' to 'R' in order to provide me HSI. Don't know that 'V' can support 8M package or not. Those 2 box just beside and I ask them directly change my line from 'R' to 'V' also can't. hmm.gif

FYI, a lot of 'F' box in the Unifi services area blush.gif

Dear Mr. Ong,

Thank you for bringing this matter again to our attention Firstly, we would like to apologize on the late reply.

We refer to your e-mail dated 31st January 2013 on High Speed Internet (HSI) services availability at your area, we regret to know that you has been informed that the said service cannot be provided via cabinet KGP_006 due to port availability issue. Moreover, there are no plans in upgrading the service for time being due to low demand.

However, we have forwarded this matter to our Access Network Delivery (AND) Johor Selatan for their further clarification since they previously considering in pulling the tie cable from cabinet KGP_008 to KGP_006 in order to resolve such matter (should no issue arise within the progress). Rest assured that we will get back to you once feedback received.

For further assistance or feedback, kindly e-mail us at help@tm.com.my. Alternatively, you can also contact TM at 100, choose language and select "Product and Services".

Thank you.

Regards,

Customer Service Support,
Telekom Malaysia.
