May I ask a things?
The cabinet does extended DSL coverage area or not?

Following is my current connection details:
Circuit Type: Phone Status: In service
Customer name: Telekom Malaysia Speed: 1024 kbps
Service Type: ADSL_MM DSLAM Type: Copper Cabinet
Distance DP to Cabinet (KM): 0.26 Distance cabinet to MDF (KM): 4.35

QUOTE
Please be informed that you are currently tagged to an ATM based cabinet (KPG 006) where the HSI service cannot be provided. We understand that you are just 0.26 KM away from cabinet KPG 006 however the cabinet distance is 4.35 KM away from the nearest Main Distribution Frame (MDF), KGP Exchange. Thus, the maximum speed available for your area is 1.0 Mbps which is in accordance to your current subscription.

After I made several complaint to TM they finally willing to pull a cable to my cabinet, but is the total length is calculate include of cabinet to MDF?

Or it shall works as the picture I attached ?

Thanks for the reply smile.gif
So TM really have the 'AND' team and pulling the tie cable is possible as TM reply me as below?

QUOTE
However, we have forwarded this matter to our Access Network Delivery (AND) Johor Selatan for their further clarification since they previously considering in pulling the tie cable from cabinet KGP_008 to KGP_006 in order to resolve such matter (should no issue arise within the progress).

Instead of expanding fibre optics throughout Malaysia, why TM just not implement VDSL2 technology for both high-rise and landed houses?
Well at least they have just to built another DSLAM with VDSL2 technology.... and BOOM!!!
Your copper line now able to handle 10mbps or 5mbps for further area apart DSLAM.
*
VDSL2 Zero-Touch Vectoring Technology

If they want to implement soon, don't just buy old VDSL2 equipment. Get the newer ZERO Touch 2nd gen VDSL2 on vectorization technology.

Use VDSL2 with vectorization instead. If they can build a cabinet to serve every 0.5km or replace existing Apollo rocket type switches in urban areas, average 80mbps is possible on a single copper pair. Current Unifi services are only doing similar speeds and that's is enough to serve IPTV and 20mbps with still breathing space.

Every home with RAW 32-40mbps is more than enough using different VLANs.

10/8mbps for IPTV and upto 20mbps for internet/voip port. Total needed is just 30-32mbps.

QUOTE
BT Group Strategy Director Sean Williams, while giving evidence to the House of Lords Select Committee has highlighted that partial fibre (FTTC) is five times cheaper to deploy than a full fibre (FTTP) solution.

FTTC is at the beginning of its development path, with Vectoring technology offering the potential to reduce the impact of cross-talk and boost speeds, allowing the shortest lines to reach over 100 Mbps. Future xDSL variants may offer even more speed boosts.

http://www.thinkbroadband.com/news/5278-bt...m-solution.html
Read that? 5X cheaper than FTTP/FTTH that means if Unifi chose VDSL2 earlier, we probably have almost 5X more covergae than now and still delivering similar 20mbps/30mbps/50mbps on existing copper with option to go full FTTP later if needed with demand.

VDSL2 is not very much different from installing Streamyx using existing copper phone cabling except if using pure fibre until the MSAN cabinet.

Looks perfectly well to support 8M with port capped to 10238kbps/637kbps with only 14dB/5.6dB attenuation.

Very good line condition. They cancel it probably because they don't want to sell you the line for certain reasons such as keeping the extra port for themselves or too lazy to process it for you at this moment.

Maybe they haven't confirm the tests properly and have to make a run for early lunch today? Or course they won't leave it be just to make sure things go smoothly.
