AFAIK, that "Apollo" version is old technology, to gain high speed your place need at least "white cabinet". This "white cabinet" will be attach with minimum 4 core fiber optic. But the cost to install white cabinet is high and maybe in 1-2 years there will be a cabinet install. If a lot of residence there make petition to apply fiber, TM maybe consider it.

P/S: I heard "khabar angin" in 3 years to come, TM plan to terminated the exchange nationwide, will be replace by main controller somewhere at KL. Any prob with internet will be refer to main controller.

Just for info....

TM many type of cabinet
1) APO aka APOLLO is a save space n safety..their built higher than other cabinet....1 apollo can be used for 500 user....now a day some apollo cabinet their put a DSLAM port...so DSLAM port can support 4Mbps......this cabinet still continues used....

2) Krone cabinet...this type of cabinet with krone modular....this can up to 800 user.....

3) Pouyet cabinet....this type of cabinet with pouyet modular....this can up to 800 user...size same like krone cabinet..just inside different....

-Cabinet 1,2 and 3 are link from exchange....all port will control from there.....

4) Fiber Cabinet...Zte cabinet/Huawei cabinet.....This using Metro E-concept....1st implementation our country Felda Trolak Sungkai Perak last year....This cabinet what the shamnh said......fiber running....but only to cabinet....from cabinet to house still same infra..copper cable..same like b4..what the advantage this cabinet not link to TM exchange already.......so the small TM exchange will be shut down.....Here all the E/SITE control by TM Kl site..ENOC team..This type of cabinet will be install phase fase by fase.....and this cabinet default port 2Mbps...Max port will be 10Mbps....

Thanks for the info. That's why i saw many ZTE in my place and the other Northern states.
I heard the power supply for ZTE box is more efficient because ZTE said they customise the power unit specially for TM case.

Any more Unifi expansion after this?I heard after Phase 1 now TM have quiet down already and concentrate in new developments that have demand only.

Now the new vectorized VDSL2 new generation can support 80mbps below 500m circuit length. Can also line bond to double the speed with 2X pairs.

Thanks for the infos. Since you're at it, previously when I live in my apartment, why only certain floor can get 4Mbps? Like, 1-3rd floor cannot, 4-5th can,6-10 can't,11-15 can, and 16~ cant. Odd isnt?

So it's

Download : 8Mbps / 8 roughly : 1.0 - 1.2MB/s
Upload : 512kbps / 8 roughly : 40KB/s - 64KB/s (from what i hear)

I think sometimes TMnet needs to understand not every Internet user are download-heavy users.
Some users need to upload large files (charts, graphics, project files, film / music editing files) for work purposes and 40-64KB/s isn't enough.

Sigh... looks like i've gotta skip this one as well.

ADSL limitation, I believe there's no ISP offers more than 1Mbps upload using ADSL.
Well if you read fact about ADSL, those are only theoretical speed and potential speed, not real speed.

That's why Fibre is going to replace ADSL technology.
