I just passed all the interview in Huawei under fresh graduate program. The position I applied is solution pre sales engineer. They asked me to do medical check up before they can give me the offer letter. The HR told me the minimum salary he can offer me is 3.5k and maximum is 3.8k.
I also got an offer from another company in Sarawak. (P.s. I am a sarawakian and currently stay in sarawak. No relative in KL).
Now I have dilemma about choosing between these two company. Apparently Huawei is the company that suit my major but not the other. But the salary they offered is a bit low as I need to consider accommodation and transport. In Sarawak, I will not worry about those things.
So, I would like to have some advices about which to choose. I also would like to know about the benefits, career progressions and OT claim in Huawei.

Go HW since you are young.

Your worry is the offered remuneration is low. Can remuneration give you exposure ? HW can but you work work and work la.
You just start your career ... money or experience ... pick one.

I know for sure that Huawei can provide the exposure. But the problems I am facing now is with my parents. They seem don't like me to fly over to west malaysia. And gave a lot of reasons such as covid-19, accommodation, not enough savings... I could not persuade them. I saw from those previous post that if I rejected Huawei offer, they will put me on blacklist. Is it really so?

Cause I plan to wait for the situation to get better, then I could reapply for Huawei again

Explain to them that it is for the sake of your future. Like some other mentioned here, you want to gain as much exposure as possible when you first start working. And it seems HW is the best choice pertaining to that. Don't worry about initial salary because after just few years you can demand even more and hop to different company. No matter what you choose, I wish you all the best.

Bro I advise u to take huawei. Working hours are bad but you are young and without commitment. Just go there and work like dog for 2-3 years. Then move.
Salary don’t think so much. Their bonus is good and can probably make up for it. But you have to be very obedient and hard worker. Their bonus can up to 6 months. Presales if u land deals sure get nice bonus. But bidding and proposal time prepare to work till 12am and check in back 9am.

Just do it. For those with families liao they will not be able to do this kind of hours.

That's exactly what I think too. But my parents don't seem to agree with me. They said you will need to achieve KPI or else you have to ciao

I've just passed my interview last week and currently waiting for offer letter which usually takes about 1-2 weeks. I am just wondering what is the benefits that Huawei given to their staff? I saw the benefits that they offer me is quite differ from others, as i read from other job platform, fixed allowances (phone & transport) is 500 and 18 AL, but mine is 400 & 16 AL.

What position you applied for? They talked to you regarding the benefits during the interview?

You have to know Hw is quite a big company, The numeration and benefit is not standardized full board.

Certain department will have slightly different kind of perks.

I cant help but notice that you are fresh and keep eyeing the dollar and cent. Look the other direction and what you yearn will come.

Hi guys, I got interviewed for the position of Sales and Accounts Business Operation Engineer around 2 weeks ago. Went through 2 interviews by the manager and HOD from China and I passed the interview. The the recruiter (I supposed she is from Huawei instead of recruitment agency) told me to submit my documents for approval today and will revert back to me in 1-2 weeks. What does that mean? Because we haven't even discuss about the remuneration packages or anything yet. 🧐

It means you will receive your job offer soon. I supposed your documents would include your payslip with your current company.
They will apply for the budget internally for approval, once approved, HR will call you and said they will offer you xxx amount and ask if you can start at so-and-so date. Most likely they will ask you to go to their office to read the offer and sign it on the spot. Of course, you have the rights to take it back and not sign it on the spot. The HR might be pushy saying they won't let you take the offer letter back. Just be ready and spontaneous.

Call the HR again in 1-2 weeks time if they didn't call, and of course, call in again only if you are very keen and interested.
Working in Huawei is no easy job, I'm talking based on my own experiences there.

Im a fresh graduate and I have applied for a HR specialist position in Huawei South Africa. It’s already been a month since I have undergone 1 phone call talk and 2 virtual interviews. I was asked to submit copies of my ID and passport for background check last week because they said I have passed my interviews. I’m still worried that I would not be able to get the job offer, so I’ve sent email for the employment progression 2 days ago but I haven’t got any replies yet. Anyone know how long it usually takes for Huawei to progress background check? I have been waiting for this job offer for so long I rejected some other good local job offers 😫

Probably a bad decision

Rarely will a company sponsor your work visa in a foreign country, especially if you are a fresh graduate and for a general role like HR

For engineers, yes Huawei do post them to Dubai/Middle East. But for a role as general as HR, dont put your hopes too high and I hope you will still get good local offers

But it was Huawei who approached me in the first place sending me an email that they are interested in hiring Malaysian. But still, I think you are right, getting visa sponsored as a general role like HR is too good to be true. sad.gif
