As told by my friend in GSRC itself, you need to work for any domestic project first within 3 months. Then only you can go to oversea but still depends on the how urgent the oversea project need new staff.

Got a call for interview next week.
Position: Datacom Engineer
Think so is a MRO department.
I'm a fresh grad in E&E with no telco background.
Any advise on what I should prepare?
Normally how much is the salary for such position?
Is heavy travelling required?

utter bullshit ? biggrin.gif

1) who said no OT claims ? ask your senior to teach you how to apply the allowance via the damn ipay system.
2) no people ask you to work on weekend unless there a major operation few days before and that's only remote standby where you still could tfk at home and you could apply replacement leave for it. did you even know that ?
3) you should screw your own dpt boss for this.
4) if there's no workload then you are redundant, you should look for GLC company n work.
5) i agree and disagree on this, some system were pain in the ass to use, but one you get use to it.. then it's nothing.
6) unreasonable procedure ? from mgt or customer state your point.
7) no people gonna give a damn to call you if you didn't mess up with your shitty work quality. that's a FACT, or you didn't handover your stuff to the related person.
8) you'll get a big bite of it if you perform well and it's based on your competency level ! not those so call "sales talk" where you only know how bullshit, complain and crap talk.
9) this is a company where I practically see no politics at all.

had few friends went for the interview. usually they ask questions depending on your experience. for fresh, they might ask what you've studied in uni related to telco.

U got MRO? Contract or outsource? Technical wise, cannot comment cuz from different dept.
Benefit wise, proj can claim a lot, toll, petrol etc etc. Not bad la, overnight allowance, holiday allowance etc etc allowance. But, the more allowance, the more work la.. haha..
Be prepared to work with HQ ppl... ahem~
Do brush up on your mandarin ya, doesn't matter if you've been speaking mandarin for your whole life.
Boss(pure Chinese guy) asked me for a pendrive on my 1st week and I've no idea what he wanted. Thought he wanted a plate..hoho..
No worries on office politics, maybe you'll encounter it on the customer side, not in Huawei.
3 yrs in Huawei, still alive and kicking tongue.gif

If you really really want this job, then everything they ask u i.e. willing to travel, willing to travel to dangerous continents, willing to go site alone etc etc, just ans YES! Show them that you really really wanna join and willing to serve the company well. English no good, no problem, I still can und what you type here. Mandarin more important. And study a bit of the basic principle of whatever post you're applying for.
