Android needs more core in order to provide the same user experience as dual core system running in WP8. This is a fact and even acknowledged by the android team themselves and they don't intend to change this in near future. Although the GUI is not as smooth as IOS or WP8, it should performs up on par with others when running application. The sluggishness of android is due to it doesn't provides as much cpu cycle as others to process the touch and GUI.

i really a hater of android but i was quite impress on note 2 the lag its not noticable with so much functions The camera really sux on note 2 really hope nokia comes out with someone to brag about on their carl zeiss before they say good bye or carl zeiss partnership end up given to samsung.
Yea just imagine if meego single core is as smooth as any quad core just imagine its running quad core meego it will pawn every single phone in the market and if they have focus all on apps today Nokia is still big and as par as android and iOS.
I have heard of the intel architecture lets hope nokia able to survive until it comes. Even the windows 8 sux i got the serial key and suppose to activate before 31 jan 2013 but end up i just let it go because it design so badly to do a simple task on a desktop i need to do additional 4 to 5 steps.
I staying with windows 7 because windows 8 is designed for tablet not desktop.
Well windows 8 is really usable on a desktop....you just need a little getting used to ...if you wish you could almost ignore the start screen since the desktop experience is exactly the same like windows 7 .. I have no regrets in upgrading my laptop to windows 8 ..love the metro UI ...the start screen is really helpful (you could even do internet searches or looking for files and folders by just going to the start screen and typing you could even search for meaning of words that is if you have a metro dictionary app installed) It really comes down to personal opinion...i think Windows 8 is great ...

its quite a sad fact that microsoft has yet again, copied and followed apple's technological leadership. by focusing on touch and abandoning the traditional keyboard/mouse interface. as always, their first few efforts had failed miserably.
probably win 10 will be perfected and microsoft starts dominating the world again.

I very much agree with you about the Win8. I (unashamedly) call myself as a PC power user. The major issue I encounter with Win8 is multitasking. With metro, multitasking sucks. At most 2 apps can be displayed at a time. I hope they will implant some resizeable application interface, so that I can monitor multiple apps at a time, like the video shown below(Note 10.1).
I believe MS is planning to remove desktop one day. Which is really sad, for power users.
All MS has to do is to provide OPTION! Let us have the option to COMPLETELY turn off Metro interface!

if not mistaken , rm310 is not the normal charging plate.. its the charging stand.... at least from what i see from FB pics... so MY dun get the lying down wireless charging plate?
If the Wireless Stand (DT-910) is RM310, then it makes sense because it's going for USD99 in Amazon and SAR345 (RM270) in Middle East. Wireless Plate at RM200 is reasonable.
Nah when i was using symbian it was lagging like hell especially when using Nokia N8. When it started belle it was alright.
I hardly play game on my nokia phone because its laggy and the games are below average.
Just ask yourself if single core is so good why did nokia let meego to die? Nokia adopt windows phone now is worse most things are control by microsoft.
Why is android laggy? because its real time multitasking like Nokia N9 running single core.
Lets come back to windows phone why do you think it does not lag.
No.1 its not real time multitasking No.2 Its only tiles if tiles can lag can throw it away di No.3 Limited functions
Honestly android have chased up already now phones like nexus 4, Note 2, S3 do not lag anymore while it have real time multitasking like symbian. Thats is from my observation.
dude, multi-billion dollar businesses dont rely on how many cores its product runs on only. theres other factors in consideration as to why a certain product is abandoned or continued. like exkurogane pointed out, nokias marketing went to the point of not even having the number '4' in its products to cater certain market assumptions.
having said that, ive explained my and most others pov on why they went to microsoft, and why microsoft did what it did.

The charging stand is more expensive base on what the Nokia guy told me. The more cheaper one would be the one that they advertise and a bit expensive one would be the fatboy pillow charger. The stand is expensive around 5 or 6hundred I forgot as you could charge wirelessly while standing. There is also one that cost 1 thousand he said which could charge, play music and answer call etc.
