Hi all. I am really keen on getting Nokia Lumia 920 now that Maxis has a package for it. Time to upgrade my good old Nokia E66 and get a plan to go along with it.

Read at another thread that the battery life dies very fast for no apparent reason. Is it true or is it that guy got a bad unit? How's the battery life btw?

Not trying to influence you either way but I strongly suggest you read the relevant threads in order to make an informed decision.

Well...there seems to be some problems reported by the users here. But like someone said, if their phones no problems, they won't be posting about them here. So you have to take into consideration if you want to buy this phone. If you can wait, you can wait for few more months for the software to stabilise or to get an overall survey.

I think buying phones/electronic devices is like kena lottery... biggrin.gif . Sometimes good luck, sometimes not so.

I have no problem with my L920 btw

From 90% to 70% in 45 mins now... Monitoring.. Just a couple of messages and some fiddling with functions... I think something seriously wrong with this batch. Nothing like the situations everyone has described so far..

Yes both done. Mine has a tendency to self-restart during usage. Also when left to charge overnight, I wake up in the morning with the display requiring me to input PIN.

I'm on the Maxis plan. Not sure if it's setup differently from the outright phones from Nokia directly. I also don't have Phone memory options to save my contacts. Everything has to be linked to an e-mail account.

Get it replaced I suppose. Too much problem if you just bought it.

I'm a few of the lucky one with no battery issues even when I on my 3G. Battery usage also doesn't reduce that much when I turn the NFC on even the touch sensitivity to high.

Restart issue was not even a problem when I first bought the phone, but now there is a whole lot of problem. Sometimes when pickibg up call, using some app, it will restart on its own. Guess i'll need to find the source of the problem, probably some app that is broken..

One thing that I notice after the Portico update is that the moment you pull the headphones out of the phone while listening to a song, there is no more of that one millisecond where sounds comes out from the phone. They must have fixed that.

My Lumia is still experiencing random reboots. It rebooted once yesterday and I had to soft reset because it was still at the Nokia screen after 2 minutes. After the soft reset, the store says I have 15 new updates ... downloaded all of the updates and very happy that my Money Management software has been updated and all the feature requests that I requested was implemented.

So giving a shout out to Bank Account Manager (BAM) version 8.20, the developer rocks!

I dont seems to have this issue and i'm not on Portico.
I listen to music quite a lot with the 920 using my D5k.

It is really stupid...this random reboot problem should not even exist.
They don't even seems to want to fix it...

i have a hunch that the random reboots have something to do with memory management; whenever there is a read/write, the communication clashes with the kernel or something. hmm.gif

anyway, there was a leak that microsoft is building something big for W8 RT, W8 and WP8. hopefully things get better with that.

I was told that restart is required after soft reset, otherwise live tile might not update properly

If this is not one of the relevant threads then which is? Anyway I'm still gonna probably jump on the lumia bandwagon and crossing fingers that it does not have problems as those discussed here.
