Hi Fangh0401,

From the iOS Lyra app, can you open up show us network map?
Is the node to node connection is strong?

If is strong it should show 3 dark green lines, if is weak it show 2 light green lines.

(I always turn off my internet during bedtime)
Why? Streamyx has unlimited quota
And both the modem and the Lyra setup doesn't consume that much power anyway

If you just want to block your kids from accessing the internet during bedtime, you can setup a schedule to each WiFi signal on the time they can access the internet

Hi pl95077,

I hv removed the Lyra and put up my old router, so can’t show you the network map unless I go home this afternoon after work to set it up again.

I hv tried to move the secondary nodes to the side of primary node, with 3 green lines showing in the Lyra app connecting to primary node. But it get disconnected and will nvr connect back to the primary node after switching the secondary nodes off and turn on again.

The way you setup Lyra should be as below.

Turn on the main Lyra, set it up.
Turn on 2nd Lyra, set it up and only proceed to turn on the last one.

Only the main Lyra should be connected to the Streamyx Modem.

I recommend you to turn off the wireless ability on the Streamyx modem and configure it on switch mode and perform the PPPOE connection on your Lyra for the best performance.

Thank you blacktubi, will try to do the setup again following your step. But do you mind to explain further the part on "configure the streamyx modem on switch mode and perform the PPPoE connection on Lyra"? How to configure it on switch mode, and how to perform PPPoE on Lyra?

Sorry for all the questions, appreciate that, thank you.

I phrase it wrongly, I meant configuring your modem to Bridge mode.

By changing it to bridge mode, all networking will be done on the LYRA so you will have less issues.

You need your Streamyx ID and password.

I see, will give it a try and see whether that can solve my issue, thank you.

Hello, I'm looking for a suitable router for my office setup. Please suggest suitable models...

The router must be able to support:

TM UniFi
8 desktops (LAN connection)
2 laptops (WiFi connection)
5 mobile phone (WiFi connection)
1 network photocopy machine for printing and scanning (LAN connection)
1 CCTV Network 4 cameras (LAN connection)
1 WD MyCloud (LAN connection)
1 16 port switch - to connect all the LAN cables mentioned above

Currently considering between RT-AC86U, RT-AC88U, and BRT-AC828 hopefully it's not an overkill for my setup.
What are the hardware features that I should take note, RAM? Processor?

Would recommend the BRT-AC828, with a 16 port switch as you listed above. That should be sufficient.

Just use the Maxis router as a bridge for your VoIP, and your Asus AC68U as the main router. Other routers that can support VoIP are two D-Link routers, and no Asus routers can support VoIP. See my post here: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=87404022

Anyone can share your experience on Maxis broadband in terms of speed and stability? What is the upload speed for 30Mbps package?

Hi

Am using a RT-AC86U, just bought.

I went through the usual settings, Unifi is working, but somehow HyppTV is not. Keeps on saying network unreachable.

Im using the Unifi-Home profile, LAN cable plugged into Lan4.

Is there anything I’m missing here?

Tq in advance.

The Maxis broadband is okay in terms of speed and stability and the upload speed is 30Mbps as well. Main drawback is that you have to bridge the Maxis router for VoIP, or get a router that supports VoIP, if you want to use VoIP.

Hi, I have been using Timenet for a while. TImenet during installation gave me a Huawei white device with another Dlink cyclindrical device. I think one of them is modem and the other is a router. Not sure which is which as both has Lan port on them. I connect the phone line to the white Huawei device though which Timenet provides a phone line which I do use though rarely.

I am now wondering if I can replace those two devices with one device? I am looking at the Asus DSL-AC88u, which looks like a lamborgini. Anyone successfully used this device from Asus to replace the two devices given by Time? Is the phone line still be usable?

Do let me know.

You can only change the router, and not the modem. The modem is the Huawei white device. Be sure to have your PPPoE username and password, so you can connect successfully on the new Asus RT-AC88U. Phone line will sill be usable if you leave it connected to the modem. And bro, FYI, it is just Time Internet, not Timenet.

I just switched from Unifi to Maxis. So far it is ok in term of speed and stability. Can get 30 mbps both upload and download. The main difference i feel compare to Unifi is my cctv is now smoother maybe due to 30 mbps upload which slower on Unifi.

Are you sure LAN4 is tagged correctly via VLAN? VLAN is 600 for HyppTV, and 500 for Internet. Try to plug into LAN1.

You mean if I use my own Router rt-ac58u then I will not be able to use the soft phone that come with the service? And I am still be able to use other VoIP like Skype etc?
