read already... just like asusmy and a second user to comment.

really, no other user?

if no other user comment, maybe it means there are very few users of this ac1300uhp for 100mbps?

or maybe it's not a good choice?

It does, but if your 2.4GHz band is too congested, forget it. It doesn’t support AC as well on 5GHz, bro. You need to get a router that supports 5GHz on AC.

ok. will try it out.

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jan 2 2018, 02:20 PM)
rtn12hp is not gigaport, 2.4hz only.

max ethernet speed is 95.

max wifi is 55.

i tried so many times! biggrin.gif

thanks for the info. really considering 1300uhp asus. plus its for large homes. my n12hp was for small homes and the wifi coverage was not bad at all.

we are in the same boat.

blacktubi review on ac1300uhp is good.

if u hv noticed. i hv been trying to get asusmy and a second user to comment on it in this and the other thread.

but after 2 weeks, no second user came to comment at all!! blink.gif

if it is good enough, this affordable router + 5ghz wireless dongle will solve my and many other people's main problem.

i really do no want to spend rm1.5k on a router or throw away old devices or give up on getting full 100mbps on wifi for a 3 yr old pc!!

in the same boat. if u decide to get it or reviews from other user please let me know. so many ppl saying mikrotik is good. not sure what are the advantages. what i read is u get enterprise setting for very cheap price. not sure what setting are they talking about. For me if i can safely get what ever package i am on. im happy. what more can u do with a router. but there must be a reason behind it. need to work now. will try to google more later. biggrin.gif

Hi AVFAN,

RT-AC1300UHP 5GHz are surely able to support the 100Mbps, but 5GHz frequency are weak in penetrating the wall, if you are saying you are 50ft away from the router, I don't think you will have a good bandwidth or signal.

Thank you

Hi sHawTY,

Currently the Lyra doesn't have the VLAN function yet, but we are testing it beta firmware and it is working. Hopefully will have he official firmware available to update soon.

hmm... but...

.. i tested my tablet with the stock router - 50 ft, 1 wall, 1 staircase - got consistent 95.
.. another forumer said with some other router+pc+wireless dongle - similar distance - got 100.

perhaps the rtn12hp_b1 was so good with 50mbps 2.4ghz that i had hoped the ac1300uhp can do the same with 100mbps 5ghz!?!

would ac68u or ac86u or ac88 be much better for that purpose and reasons?

they are much pricier too, i know.

Both are already updated to the latest firmware already. It is something to do with the dhcp?

Hi krofal,

Try fixing the channel first. If the problem still persist, try off the RT-N12 D1 and see whether the problem will happen again or not.

Thank you

Hi AVFAN,

If you have tested with stock router and getting consistent 95 then there should no problem on the RT-AC1300UHP.

".. another forumer said with some other router+pc+wireless dongle - similar distance - got 100."

Will need to depend on the environment too, blockage, interference. etc.

The RT-AC1300UHP will have better spec compare with RT-N12HP. But you need to know 5GHz are weaker in range.

https://support.stuff-fibre.co.nz/hc/en-us/...-GHz-and-5-GHz-

Higher CPU and RAM will have better in performance, same with PC.

Thank you

It shouldn't be an issue if it is 50ft in an open space but when dealing with multiple obstructions, this is where the signal suffer. Let me be frank to you, it is unlikely that any consumer routers can do 100Mbps over 50ft with multiple solid concrete reinforced wall.

Why is that so you wonder? Even if the router can broadcast at a high level of transmit power, the router cannot receive anything from the client as the client device wouldn't be able to broadcast at that level.

I deal with wireless devices on a daily basis, if you want something that can deliver 100Mbps over 50ft with multiple wall reliably, you are talking about Enterprise level APs. You can take a look at Ruckus R710 or the flagship series from Aruba.

These Enterprise grade APs have some really sophisticated high gain antenna design to deal with interference and of course, they cost much higher.

Tq for comments.

I like yr review, appreciate yr comments.

I understand there r great solutions to best perf but will come with a price which i am not prepared to pay.

I am a basic user, just wanna get optimal wifi speed in a typical house with old eqpt.

Ok if i can get 90% of rated.

Everyone knows one can get it all if u PAY!! tongue.gif

I also understand the laws of physics and electronics.

I guess i will hv to try myself, may be of help to others like me.

Hi Asus,

The channel is already fixed to 11 previously. The problem doesn't occur when the TR-N12 D1 is turned off. For example, my connection is working perfectly when I'm using just the AC55UHP, but when I turn on the RT-N12 after a minute I can't even connect to the internet anymore. However, if I reset the N12 to default and reconfigure it as a repeater again, it works fine for at least a day before the same thing occurs again.

Thank you so much, I dont use IPTV hence I didnt know that its there. After configuring it, it confirm that my Asus router is having issues.

My Asus router can detect all my devices over wireless but non of the device can go on to Internet except for my desktop. Tried using other router and everything was fine. Only happen on the Asus router. Maybe I need to send it for repair.

Hi x-frame,

Can you updating the firmware to the latest and test again?

Hi everyone,

I just bought an Asus BRT-AC828, but I can't seem to make HyppTV to work.

I tried using the STB Network Diagnostic Tool to test my network connection, all of them checked out right except for Multicast connectivity.

Router Firmware: 3.0.0.4.380_7357

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!
