Check yr router model. If it's b1 u have to d/load the same.
I leave at default. Turn on qos & set it to 5mbs for vip5.

Hi there,

I'm encountering some problem with the PCIE wifi adapter which i just recently bought.

Asus PCE-N15

Whenever the modem password is set (WPA2 AES), there will be DNS not found problem showing in the browser. I have tried all the firmware for the PCE-N15 found in Asus website, all not helping at all.

Strange thing is, whenever I set the modem to open system, the internet seems fine. I have tried using it on a normal Unifi router, D-link, with password, IT WORKS FINE.

Please help to guide me

Below are the setup i used and hardware currently using :

Asus PCE-N15 Wifi Adapter [NEW]

Asus N12U Modem [WPA2 AES]

Asus P8H61 MOBO [Latest Bios]

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (x64) [Newly installed]

Hi nsg86,

I would like to collect some information from you, can you provide me the setting file and system log from your modem router.

The system log preferably you download it when you face the slow problems. And my I know do you enable the QoS on the router?

Is there any other device that is connected to the modem router LAN port?

I will PM you my email address, you can send the file to me through email.

In the meantime, can you go to Advanced Settings > Administration > DSL Setting and make the following changes, see whether connection could be stabilized.

1. Set "DSL modulation” to G.DMT.
2. Set “Stability Adjustment” to -3 dB.

Thank you.

Hi Asus support. How to turn off port 554 in asus RT-AC55UHP?

Is port 554 and the DLNA server related? I have turned off the DLNA media server and when I did a port scan, port 554 is still shown as open.

Hi kianlun,

May I know what is the WiFi card/adapter that you are using? Yo can try updating its drivers. And is all the WiFi device also having the same download speed?

You can use phone to do speedtest also.

You can also try updating the RT-N12 D1 firmware to the latest Version 3.0.0.4.378.6975.

In this firmware, you will need to do a factory reset after the firmware update.

Hi ASUSmy,

Im using DSL-N12E_C1 with a firmware 1.0.9.9.

Im trying to setup a DDNS server (using No-IP) but the problem right now I could not ping to my server
via ddns address or the WAN IP. It will result a time-out. I did also with firewall been turned off.

Attached Image

Just want to check whether it is ok with current firmware or I should downgrade it. icon_question.gif

Hi Misfit,

Is not the firmware problem, is the WAN IP that you get from ISP.

The IP that you get start with 10.x.x.x which is a private IP and you unable to create a DDNS if you have a private IP for WAN.

Try contacting your ISP and see that they can provide you a public IP instate.

Thank you

Hi ASUS,

recently bought a new N56U for my Maxis Fiber

however when i config the router, it gives me timed out after keying in my maxis account? Internet status is stuck at "Disconnected"

I used the special requirement profile and even updated the firmware. It still doesn't work

plugging back my old router works just fine.

What seems to be the problem?

Hi Szzz,

You can follow the youtube on how to do the setup.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBRbk1FSFj0

You will notice there will 2 selection for Maxis Fibre, (1) Maxis Fibre (2) Maxis Fibre Special.

if your modem are from TM, please choose option (1).

If the modem are from Maxis, please choose option (2).

If you don't know the modem are from which ISP, you can try both.

Thank you

Hi pl95077,

DDNS (Dynamic Domain Name System) is a service that allows network clients to connect to the wireless router, even with a dynamic public IP address.

In short, the DDNS is just like a name where you use the name to link you back to the router or other features such as AiCloud, FTP server, Download Master and etc from external network.

Most people use it for CCTV or remote desktop.

Thank you

question about the RT-AC66U:

I am using MAC Filter to restrict access. Sadly I cant figure out how to find rejected connections due to MAC Filter control in the logs (to trace and enable MAC adress when user doesnt know his/her MAC adress).

Also I would like to check if its possible to remove unused MAC adresses? Would it be smarter to clean up the list and use the guest network instead for TMP usage? What is the difference between guest network and normal access (no LAN access, only internet?)

thanks.

Hi PJusa,

May I know what is your firmware version?

In the Wireless Mac Filter you should be able to choose which to block as it show the list the connected device on the router.

Not very understand what you mean by remove unused MAC address, can you elaborate more?

Guest Network are purely for online only, when the Access Intranet are disabled(which it is by default), clients will not be able to view or access other device on the network. Clients will not be able to access the router too.

Thank you

Hi Szzz,

May I ask, have you tried to do a factory reset?

And can you try using the Maxis router as the main router, and plug a LAN cable to the from the Maxis router LAN port to the ASUS WAN port as second router.

See that you able to get any Internet connection or not from the ASUS router.

Thank you

Firmware-Version:3.0.0.4.376_3861

I have setup the MAC Filter already. But I cant find any log function to see which clients actually connect / fail to connect.

Cleaning up the MAC filter = remove no longer used devices, i guess this would only be possible through the log or a future function (Client last seen on Date/Time). Maybe a suggestion for future firmware?
