Hi Asus support. How to turn off port 554 in asus RT-AC55UHP?

Is port 554 and the DLNA server related? I have turned off the DLNA media server and when I did a port scan, port 554 is still shown as open.

Hi sEabrEEzE,

Can you elaborate more on what you trying to do by closing the port 554?

And do you mind providing your sysem log and you setting file too.

So that I can pass it to our RD to check based on your environment and your setting.

I will PM you my email address.

Thank you

I do not access port 554 from the internet, just wanted to close unneeded open ports.

Can this port be closed on a asus RT-AC55UHP?

Hi Asus Support

I have a Asus RT-AC55UHP router with firmware version 3.0.0.4.378_5209. 3 devices might be connected to the router and I wish to see which device is using the most bandwidth. Is there a way to see how much bandwidth a device is using?

TQ

Hi Asus Support

In Asus router RT-AC55UHP can we create another user to access the download manager application in the router? Or is the default admin the only user allowed to add tasks for the download manager?

Also in the download manager, General Setting -> WAN network, there is a on/off toggle button and the description is "Enable/disable the WAN connection". Is this button for setting access to the download manager from WAN to manage tasks in the download manager application?

TQ

Hi...Perhaps, Asus dev team should add in such a feature to allow a non-admin account to access the Download Master area. Ultimate control over users & login credentials will always be with the Admin account. This is to help allow household members to have access to the download master without surrendering the admin login details.

Yeah, this is also my wish-for feature as well. Hope Asus can implement this in future firmware.

Dear Asus Support

Where can I download the RT-AC55UHP router icon (for windows OS)?
Windows 10 can display the RT-AC55UHP router icon but I can't find the .ico file
on my local drive.

I am using Windows 10 and I can see my RT-AC55UHP in This PC -> Network locations. I can make a shortcut to the RT-AC55UHP on the desktop and it will have the RT-AC55UHP icon. I need the RT-AC55UHP icon because I have my own third party quick launcher for programs and shortcuts to drives and folders. But I cannot find the RT-AC55UHP .ico file in my pc.

Hi Asus Support,

According to Asus website, OS support for Asus PCE-AC56 network card is up to Windows 8.1. Is Windows 10 support for this card coming soon?

TQ

Hi Asus Suport

I have a Asus RT-AC55UHP router. When I turn on the the FTP Share in the USB Application page, I found that port 21 is open in the WAN port. I would like to close port 21 for the WAN port as I need the FTP share for my local LAN only. Is there a setting to close port 21 for WAN?

Hi Asus Support

I have a Asus RT-AC55UHP router with firmware 3.0.0.4.380_4180.

At the moment there are only 2 LED lights on, the Internet LED and LAN LED. All other LEDs are off, including the Power LED. I have wireless devices connected to this router, on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz channel. Both the 2.4Ghz and 5 GHz LEDs are also off. I have also an external HDD plugged into the USB 2.0 connector but the USB 2.0 LED is also off.

Besides the LEDs issue, the router seem to be working OK. I can browse the internet and share my media using the DLNA server. I brought this router in August 2015. So can I exchange this router under warranty for the LEDs issue?

I am also looking for a Asus router that has the same or better wireless coverage than the RT-AC55UHP. Does the Asus RT-AC66U has the same or better wireless coverage than the RT-AC55UHP?
