quick question about AiMesh:
Can a Asus router (as main) with official Asus firmware pair with another Asus router (as node) which had been flashed with Asuswrt-Merlin firmware?
or vice versa?
*
Merlin did not touch AiMesh at all so that should be fine

There is no advantage running Asuswrt-Merlin on the nodes, Merlin modifications are related to routing and DNS. You're better installing Asus firmware on the Aimesh nodes.

Password must contain at least 10 characters in length, including 1 letter, 1 special character, and 1 numeric character. Shall not have consecutive identical characters. Login username and password shall not be the same

Asus router required a very challenging password for me to remember, is there a way to make it more simpler or not limit to
10 characters & 1 numberics ?

With SSH method, I able to set own format password with it, just wondering is there any other way to do?

If you're remembering passwords in 2025, it's time to change to a password manager.

Hi AV_2018,

Let me double check with HQ regarding this, you may manually update the latest version from the website.

I have manually updated last night using download from website. It still tries to update to the strange version last night after updating but today it shows up-to-date.

For reference, I found some other reports of this issue here: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asus-rt-a...32/#post-973382

VLAN profile only works when using the main WAN port as WAN

In the case of RT-BE58U, the main WAN port is the 2.5G port

And you should always use the fastest port as the WAN port anyways

Can someone please help me confirm if the BE58U / BE82U supports manual channel 13 on 2.4GHz and 149+ on 5GHz? My condo has extreme Wi-Fi signal congestion, and these are the only channels that are least congested. Have been searching online for answers without success.
