Hi young_97,

You can try the firmware restoration method to update the firmware.

Hello, I am overseas now, and got new phone.

I am unable to control my asus router anymore through the app because i forgot to bind it with my account

is there any way i can connect the app back without being there in person? I help parents with wifi issues, so will be good if i can access it on my phone

i have tried ddns, downloaded openvpn and connected, open app still ask to connect to wifi even when internet is routed through home router

any tips ?
*
Hi sadlyfalways,

You can try account binding. Create an ASUS account and use that account to do the binding.

But you will need someone at your house to add the network into the ASUS Router APP and bind it with the ASUS account. You can use Google or Facebook to bind, but you will need to know the person Google and Facebook password used in the binding.

Create ASUS account
https://account.asus.com/my/signup_way.aspx

Bind trust account to my ASUS router APP

Hi young_97,

It seen like there is some changes on the website that caused the firmware restoration missing from the download page, you can download the installer from the link below.

Hi pakmulau,

Yes you can. You will need to update the firmware of the RT-AX53U to support AiMesh.

If you are planning to use it as a whole home mesh WiFi with wireless backhaul, the ZenWiFi XT12 is simply the best in class now and it probably will be for a really long time.

I finally noticed that, unlike ZenWIFI XT8, ZenWIFI XT12 does not offer the DNS-to-TLS setup. In my last post, I mentioned helping someone with this setup for his TUF Gaming AX5400.

This implies that XT12 users must rely on their browser's DNS-to-TLS setup rather than their XT12 if they want to use Secure DNS features.

It is not a significant concern because XT12 is intended for corporate network configuration anyway, and network administrators may wish to manage their own Secure DNS setup in their firewall/proxy settings.

I have the ZENWIFI XT12 and it does support DNS-to-TLS

ASUS admin probably forget to add this feature on their portal

Hi good evening to all. Just received my Asus RT AX53U today.

I got problem to comprehend the instruction to setup Aimesh system.

Do I need to setup AX53U as router first with all the PPPoE and password before I can upgrade the firmware and set as Aimesh node?

So I just need to update the firmware by uploading it to router first. I'll try it. Thank you.
