QUOTE(13_baron @ Feb 8 2013, 06:13 PM) no need to backup.i just bought last night btw,i already reset it.now at set up your phone use recommended or custom? Just use recommended. Make sure you sign into your primary Microsoft Account. Edit: If it's still busted after this, bring it back for replacement. Do the whole process again, in front of them. If they still ask you to wait for software update, just shoot them with this "you mean Nokia products require updates to actually open office and wallet properly?" Anyone knows how to transfer contact info and backup data from Android phone to Windows 8 phone? Am thinking of getting a Lumia 920. Heard the camera is the bestest ever yet (Steve Jobs-style)!

Tapwayi use bluetooth and press one by one because this wp8 cannot extract compressed info (no file manager) another way is backup contacts into sim card, then it will be readible from wp8. but you lose some field of descriptions & caller id picture beause sim card only store name & number

Eh, how to do that tagging thing? lol
Anyway, the easiest way is to store everything in your Skydrive through PC. Grab a Skydrive installer, install it on your PC, sign in, plug in your Android device, drag everything and drop into your Skydrive.
Once done, go to your WP, sign in to your Skydrive and let it sync. You'll get everything you need there.

Contacts can be transferred from any Bluetooth enabled phone to a WIndows 8 phone via the Transfer my Data app. There is no need to transfer it one by one, you just need to run the app and enabled BT for both devices and it will get all the contacts from the Android phone in one go.

I just re-read the statement from Maxis that there is no specific LTE plan... if you're currently a Maxis subscriber with a Data Plan and your phone is supporting the LTE band (2600 MHz), once you and your phone falls into the LTE zone, you will have LTE connection... The question now is that will our outright purchased phone from Nokia Store is LTE ready out of the box? I heard is that Nokia need to push software to activate... perhaps maybe Lumia 920 from Maxis already pre-loaded with the activation for LTE... someone with the knowledge needs to confirm this hehehe... Heard the camera is the bestest ever yet (Steve Jobs-style)! I suppose all the contacts on your android is stored in Google account? If it is, all you have to do is add the Gmail account to the phone and it'll pull the contacts down since Exchange Sync is still enabled for new users for now.
