anyone know a software simulator that can run on PC?

*not emulator, I want simulator.

wanna try out how WP8 OS work b4 buying the actual phone.
*
As far as I know there is no simulator only emulator on Windows Phone 8 SDK which requires you to have Windows 8 OS. Btw where do you stay? Why can't you just visit any Nokia stores near you to test out the WP 8 phones? To judge a phone's OS by a simulator is just not justifiable!

anyone of you face poor battery life problem on windows phone 8 devices?
*
I'm facing it. My previous phone wasn't a smart phone and maybe I'm not use to it but 1 full charge can last me for 24 hr only on my Red Lumia 920 with
3G on all the time
Whatsapp
2-3 calls< 5 mins
The Weather Channel app
BBC news mobile(3rd party app not official) background service
Email: Gmail sync every 2 hours/Hotmail Sync every 30 mins.
NFC on 24 hr(my mistake for not noticing).
I'll post an update and see any improvements on battery life after I shut NFC off, set Hotmail to Daily sync and remove BBC News app.
Now my battery is running on Battery Care Mode(Battery Saver).

I have tested the app on both wifi and cellular data and both seemed fine, but I can't select servers.

Good (well not good ... but at least it's not my CPU problem). I have a suspicion that some app really pushes the enevlop with regards to the CPU usage. UC Browser is awesome in terms of speed. I mean, going back and forth (I love the back/forward button ... MS, are you listening?) was instantaneous. But I guess as you mentioned, it comes with a price ... the CPU becomes super hot and the battery drain is incredible. I bet that if you continouosly use UC browser, you can drain the battery in 90 minutes easy. The CPU heating up also takes a toll on the battery life even after you close the app. I have had to switch on Airplane mode and then shutdown the phone and after 5 minutes, the CPU will cool down and in that 5 minutes of cooling off period, the battery would have drained another 5-6 percent.
*
I have tested the app, by maxing out the CPU usage therefor causing CPU heat up and battery drain is a very bad mobile application. Mobile application should have a balance between the power it consume and performance it gives. A 2 Star app for me because it drains battery like drinking water. I would rather use IE 10 that works just fine without draining so much power.

Regarding this heat issue, if you look at the video at the start of the thread, you'll notice that the top part which heats up is where the CPU, and what I think should be the radio chip is sitting in. Those things are going to heat up when in use, nothing much you can do about it. Think about the clock speed difference between your old phones and the L920. It's quite drastic!
*
My Lumia 920 will get heat up real quick on the top near the camera lens if its charging and turning on the Radio(Tune-in Radio app). If I'm watching movies via Metrotube or surfing via IE10 the device gets luke warm which is pretty normal for me.

Hu guys, I juz got my Lumia 920, I'm a u mobile user, and I encounter a issue which is I can't send out the SMS, is there anyone of u encounter this problem too?
*
Are you using the micro-sim card that is officially cut/provided by the telco? What is the signal strength of the phone? Only SMS or can you make a call? Have you tried updating your phone? Try restarting your phone as well?

add me.lumia 620.

why my lumia cant connect to internet even with wifi? sad.gif
*
Ok, there is a lot of things to consider. From Router configuration to Wifi access points, device settings.
-Which router brand & model are you using? Who is your Internet Service Provider?
-Can you see your SSID (Name of your wifi you want to join)?
-Is it a public wifi hotspot or house network? Can you connect to other wifi networks?

Yes, wallet works with Malaysia store, even with US store, if you're using Paypal then you need to download the official Paypal app then only it can detect your paypal.

Did everybody know currently Windows Phones 8 can support USSD code? I mean can you key in the DiGi Menu (*128#), Maxis (*100#) or even celcom (*118#)?

Previous windows phone 7.5 so lousy cannot support USSD code~ Cannot do anything if wish to subscribe prepaid internet plan~
*
Yes, Lumia 920 with WP8 supports it. I mean I use *100# to check how much data I have used.

Nokia Maps/City Lens and Drive+ are now renamed to HERE Maps/City Lens and Drive+. Looks like Nokia is branching out their navigation systems so those apps are not NOKIA exclusive.

Because previously my Lumia 920 back cover is a bit loose on the left side as though it's not intact, then i sent to NOKIA CARE centre at Amcorp Mall and the back cover was replaced within 2 hours. Very satisfied.
