QUOTE(PeeEl @ Dec 29 2012, 12:58 PM) Can you please elaborate? The main usage of my phones is social networking. So, besides making calls and using the sms function, I need to be able to use Wechat, Whatsapp, Viber, Tango. Need instant notification of incoming messages lest I miss out on certain events. Toast notification works okay (it send a notification of new Whatsapp messages etc) while the phone is active you will get instant notification and the Toast Notification lasts for 6-7 seconds. Is the 920 efficient on this? TQ. The problem is that it does not have a Notification Centre (like the iOS) so if you missed the Toast Notification, you will have to manually checked each individual app to see if you did get any notification. If you put the Whatsapp in the Live tile, you'll see the notification indicator, same with Facebook etc. But if they are not in the live tile, then it's a hassle to look for it. It just needs a notification centre which I believed MS was unable to complete before they launched the new OS. It is said that the next major update (not portico) will include a notification centre. |

To tell you the truth, when I was using the iPhone 4s, I don't use the notification at all other than going in there to clear the notifications! Most of the time, the badge system employed by iOS was enough for me. same thing with WP8, the badge system (the icon with the number in the live tile) is enough for me.

Yes, search & volume control needs to be fixed asap. And to think that all WP8 devices has the capacitive search buttons (MS requirement). Very kelakar one.

QUOTE(evilpuppy @ Dec 30 2012, 07:39 PM) Yalo, 7.5 7.8 can do album delete, not sure it is all wp8 bugs or only HTC?? Any wp8 user can clarify this issue? Nope. Then again, when I synced my music initially, I use WP8 connector in my Mac and synced only one particular playlist.Maybe someone who transferred their music manually can check if they can delete albums or songs for that matter (I can't delete songs at all) |

It's been more than 3 weeks since my last auto restart. It restarted on me this morning and I can pinpoint it exactly when I was updating some of my apps from the store. I suspect that as the phone went to sleep, the wifi is switched off those affecting the download and when I slide up the lockscreen, the store just hang and the phone restart.

I have not experience any delay in notifications. But the UI is way better in IOS. It will do at the moment but they need to revamp it soon.
I don't like the FB app either. I much prefer the UI in IOS. The closest I can get to the IOS UI is using touch.facebook.com |

I have a feeling that my battery or my motherboard is defective. I will have to send it to Nokia Care. My phone gets so hot sometime that it's too hot to handle. The battery drain when the top half is hot is unbelieveable. It's around 30-40% battery drain an hour. I have had to switch on the Airplane mode a couple of times just to cool off the phone.
Dang. |

QUOTE(lastlion @ Jan 9 2013, 02:44 PM) I hv'nt seen M'sian marketplace and curious about it...and was hoping to get apps from such as RHBonline, CIMBclicks, Maybank2U and any other services such as mydistress from PDRM. I have only seen the mydistress and M2u (which crashes a lot). I have not seen anything else in terms of banking apps in the MY store |

Whatsapp is back to it's usual issues. Notifications are late and I get a toast notification but when I open the chat, it's not there. Then I receive another Toast notification, and it's still not there.

It's probably because I'm on GPRS only. Something is weird with my network provider these past couple of days. Soemtime I get 3G (or H in the signal) but most of the time now I am getting G (which is GPRS). Whatsapp still sucks on WP8 though .... it's barely bearable.

QUOTE(jonchai @ Jan 13 2013, 04:25 PM) +1. But I have to say that it is related to the network issue. Once the phone switches to G (GPRS), the internet connection is pretty damn useless. I always get a Full H sign in my office but for the last several days, am only getting a G signal and this is causing the delay in getting the notification and downloading the chat messages. What I don't understand is why I get toast notification but it's not appearing in the chat messages. They should fire the team just for that. |

Confirmed that it is only for WP7.5.
I thought that WP8 is backward compatible with WP7 apps .... |

Using UC Browser right now, wow amazing speed especially the back button (though it's still not working well with mobile Facebook site) but surfing LYN, the back button is like instantaneous. Will use this from now on instead of IE10

Hmmmmm, just as I was impressed with UC browser, I noticed the CPU becoming super hot and thus draining the battery like water. Darn.

QUOTE(ainuddin @ Jan 15 2013, 04:03 AM) My Lumia always have this CPU heating issue. Try the browser and report back to us if your Lumia becomes hot or not while using it. At least I'll know that my motherboard is defective or something if you do not experience any heating issue. |
