lets not get carried away with WP8 here. its still not as good as iOS or android. I wouldnt go around recommending people to jump to WP8 yet especially for the hardcore smart phone users. the good news is its not that far away (1 major update away IMO).

Red User since Sunday the 23rd. Pm'ed already

Anyway yes you are right. If you love apps.. then not the phone for you. Better stick with Android and Ios. If you like a change and a smooth as silk OS, join the club. I am a hardcore Android user, and this is really a breath of fresh air. Love it . Just awaiting a few more apps to appear and then we are golden.

Actually I have something to share.. my usage has been similiar for the past two days, but my battery life is lasting longer. No games (don't play games), only facebook (push), whatsapp, mail (push) and some calls. I think the bat life is getting better after a week.

Anyone else experiencing this?

To tell you the truth, when I was using the iPhone 4s, I don't use the notification at all other than going in there to clear the notifications! Most of the time, the badge system employed by iOS was enough for me. same thing with WP8, the badge system (the icon with the number in the live tile) is enough for me.
*
Agreed. Android changed or lets say spoilt me when it came to notifications smile.gif. I know that IOS is still pretty bad when it comes to notifications compared to android.

I copied some mp3's over to my 920 and put on my beats headphones and they sounded really good. Pretty good actually. I really wonder if there is a difference between dolby headphones and urBeats smile.gif

Is the pr 1.1 patch available for us yet?
*
nope. Should be out around Feb 2013 as thats what all the websites state if you do a Google search smile.gif.

Google ahhh.. what a wonderful tool, I wish more people would learn to use it to find simple stuff.

They have DAC built in so It should sound good.
The Dolby headphone feature is for headphones which is 5.1 or 7.1.
You could hear the difference and the surround sound is really amazing.

If you ever getting a new headphone, I won't recommend beats...
Very muddy in sound and the bass are to high... Overpriced.
*
Yeah will do man. The thing is, I got the beat for free with my HTC one x purchase tongue.gif, am considering getting a better pair of head phones

Hi Guys, i am an existing android phone user. Currently thinking of jumping to Windows Phone 8. However my concern is whether most of the apps are paid apps?

Unlike Android market (Google Play), you can find tonnes of free apps.
*
There aren't many free apps or apps in total, only the essential ones. Again don't expect Android/Ios level of apps at this current time. Maybe in the future but not as yet. So if apps are your thing.. I would suggest that you stick on to android and wait for the next windows phone.

actually heard alot of good reviews for the 820, but the thing is .. you can purchase the 920 for just 400 bucks more... I don't know.. the 920's camera makes up for that 400 for me I guess.

I'm very loyal to Google Maps. I use it every other day in the car, is Nokia Maps just as good? Such a dealbreaker for me. SO CLOSE in getting the Lumia... Can't make up my mind now sad.gif
*
Nokia Maps is fanstastic and works as a GPS here without the need to "brut" and root your phone to use the hacked Google maps with Navigation.

I don't see it as a deal breaker but a better navigation system then Gmaps at this point. (unless google finally gives us turn by turn)

you guys better be a bit weary with the black, cause my house mate bought a black and it has a screen issue. Took it to nokia and after some complaining , they gave him a new black. Came out we found out that the battery was shaking internally and we could hear noises when the phone vibrated. Went back to the shop they gave him a choice of white or red.. he took the white but like you Foxxy.. he missed the black''s premium matt feel. I am still happy with my red though tongue.gif

Are they selling the 620 too? Or not at the moment. I want to suggest that phone to my cousin since it would be a perfect starter Windows phone for her.

Whatsapp is back to it's usual issues. Notifications are late and I get a toast notification but when I open the chat, it's not there. Then I receive another Toast notification, and it's still not there.

I hope the next major update will change how notifications come in. Right now that is my biggest gripe with Whatsapp sad.gif. The delay of the notifications when you data cuts of is really horrible sigh..

Good thing they don't carry Nokia, or I'll turn into an iFag

Honestly, Samsung is still the best when it comes to warranty. My Nexus S was repaired before with no issues. I agree about the SIS service. Their call center sucks and they will ignore your calls. I got my phone replaced in an hour. So i guess I have more power tongue.gif.
Told them off on the phone, said this is too much, they said ok, come tomorrow to Kelana will one on one for you and yes.. i got my phone in 1 hour smile.gif. Good day, but made me kinda hate HTC service overall.. need to scream to get things done.
