It is just directly called the Enrich CS to redeem? If your date is flexible, better call CS 1st to check upgrade seat availability before purchase your ticket. If your date is fixed, Just purchase MH Smart.. On the travel date, go to KLIA ticketing counter(3H-4H earlier) and asked for an upgrade. Do the same if from London to KL, Mr Halim or other MAS personnel at MAS LHR counter will help you on the upgrade.

Thanks You upgrade when someone else (family, friend, work) is paying for your ticket. If you're paying yourself then obviously it might make more sense to redeem a business class ticket up front.

Like alot if times I buy using expedia or other travel website cos is cheaper so can't get miles? Bro, most of us here talking about earning Frequent Flyer Miles from our credit card usages. For example, with Maybank AMEX Reserve and Visa Infinite where we earn 5X TP and need 4770 TP = 1000 Enrich Miles - we use our card for RM40K, we can upgrade to Business Class to London for FREE I wonder one needs to fly on many times with MAS to London on Business Class just to earn 40K Enrich Miles? And a return Business Class ticket to London cost about RM15K, if one purchase 3 return tickets using AMEX Reserve, he would have earned himself a FREE upgrade one way to LHR. Currently I have about 20k+ kris flyer miles from my earlier business trip. Now due to gst policy dun think can get anymore cos need put company name or through company agency when going for business trip. Cant benefit from personal card. Is it enrich more worth or kris flyer? As I see u recommend a lot on enrich but I see maybank points to convert kris is abit Cheaper. Also due to rcent mas crisis. If enrich good then I'll spend all my kris flyer points la. If kris good then can continue accumulate hehe

Now they are doing it randomly. I understand SIA might have limited seat for redeem as well while MAS is very generous for Enrich member to redeem seats. But MAS is now very unstable and i think better to keep credit card points rather than Enrich Miles now. I am due to fly with them tomorrow to Osaka, 27,500 Miles + RM68.9 tax on business class. (50% promo few week back, made me burn my AAX tix)

If true, it means "effective cost" of EM to redeem must deduct by the EM earned on redemption? Is this a standard practice also across other flyer programmes? Please explain bearbear kor.
