For award flight to USA, generally, would it make more sense to go LA with MAS ( seems that's the only city in US that MAS flies to?) and go with One World partner for LA - next US city or go all the way with One World partner airline?

QUOTE(tishaban @ Jun 4 2015, 12:44 AM) MH stopped flying to Los Angeles I think end of 2013? I just read off the Mas flight search, it shows LA and Dallas. Assumed it was operated by MAS Now on checking flight details, it says flight operated by Japan Airlines & AA. which means the redemption on these sectors will be via One World partners rather than MAS, right?

I want to ask about expiry for miles. If I collect 1000 miles this year and collect 1000 miles next year it will show I have 2000 miles. But the expire is 3 years so after 2 more years how they expire? Deduct 1000 miles from my total?

I have 2 questions:
1. Is it possible that for certain flights where the economy tickets are full but you are still able to use Enrich miles to book the tickets? This is what seems to be happening but I cannot understand why they do it.
2. Can you use Enrich miles to book a ticket/tickets that is not in your name? These people are traveling without you.

Yes, there is a possibility but you will need more EM for the same ticket. Do log into https://www.enrich.malaysiaairlines.com/ for more details. For example, normal redemption with EM for one way from KUL to BKK will need only 8,500 miles but you will need 18,700 miles for redemption during peak season like Hari Raya, Chinese New Year and etc. 2. Yes, it is definitely possible. We have done that few times already.

AFAIK , MAS do practice overbooking but on revenue tkts only. Therefore enrich booking will only be confirm before the flight is fully booked. 2 Yes, no problem.

Getting Started

|
Guys, can i ask MAS to refund fuel surcharges for Enrich redemptions, if the paid flight no longer has this surcharge?
There are some flights on MAS that does this, where the normal tickets don't impose a fuel surcharge but the miles redemption will still have the fuel surcharge. I think that is not fair for loyal MAS customers on Enrich. Especially when most airlines have already scrapped fuel surcharges this year.
