Hi everyone, been following this forum/topic on and off for a while. Am thankful for lots of useful information provided here.
I am using MBB's Amex Reserve and Visa Infinite combo as my primary treatpoints/air miles accumulator. I used RocketMiles to book my accommodations during my last Feb trip to the Nordics and Eastern Europe. Managed to rake in close to 40,000 miles for less than 2 weeks' worth of stays. All miles credited into my Enrich account already. Flew business class KCH-KUL-LHR return, redeemed for less than 100k miles (pre-inflation rate). I still think MAS' A380 business class seats are superior to SIA's (I flew SIA for JFK-SIN last year). SIA requires your feet to be lodged unnaturally in a corner. Not good for my 1.84m frame.
Anyone else participated in the February 33% Bonus Miles for MBB TreatPoints to Asia Miles conversion deal? I converted 1.35 million TPs to 300,000 Asia Miles. Have not received the 33% bonus as of today (the t&c did say it'll take 4-6 weeks, meaning up till mid April). I called Maybank up but they told me to contact Asia Miles. Will probably do so if I have not receive anything in 2 weeks' time.
I just called Maybank to take advantage of the bonus 10% Enrich Miles conversion promotion. They told me there's a limit to the number of Enrich Miles you can convert to (I think it's around 180k miles) so I asked to convert the required 800+k TPs. Let's see how fast the conversion will take.

QUOTE(bearbear @ Apr 8 2015, 09:37 PM) Maybank. They shafted me on the Asia Miles 33% Bonus Miles promo though. Said I was not on the list of customers who qualified for the bonus miles, even though I applied in the first week of the promo. I suspect it was due to the large amount of miles involved that I was conveniently 'overlooked'.

QUOTE(Rooivalkx @ Apr 9 2015, 07:54 PM) How did you check? I haven't received any bonus miles too even though I redeemed quite early... I called the number at the back of my MBB credit card and enquired. First call, they told me to contact Asia Miles, which I did. Asia Miles told me no, I had to talk to MBB so I called again and a third+fourth time. Every time I was politely told that they will call me back with an answer. They never did. It was on the last call that they informed that I was not on the list of cardmembers eligible for the bonus miles. They also kept repeating about the 1 million mile cap in the t&c. I said the cap was irrelevant as I redeemed so early and that I thought it was extremely unfair for them to induce people to redeem with juicy promises of 33% bonuses and give no credible explanation when no bonus miles are awarded.

QUOTE(iamWill @ Apr 10 2015, 09:59 AM) It's a hit and miss. Welcome to Malaysia Haha...true. I have had better luck for instance when MBB converted TreatPoints from my other credit cards at the same 4500 to 1000 rate as my Maybank 2 Cards Premier. Enrich also credited nearly 11k miles for one leg of my redeemed KCH-LHR flight in Feb so that was a bonus. On a side note, anyone ever redeemed First Class for London or Paris on MAS? The Enrich redemption portal shows 442k miles required This is a bit of a joke when all you need is 220k for Cathay First Class.

QUOTE(dc8585 @ Apr 8 2015, 09:33 PM) Redemption on 1 April finally showing on my Enrich account today. 185k+10% bonus miles. No GST. I stand corrected. I just called CS. They did charge me 6% GST. It cost me 882,450 TreatPoints for the 185k Enrich Miles instead of 832,500 TreatPoints.

Many thanks to bro Gen-X for his tireless efforts. Most of us I am sure have benefited from his articles. Any of you following Chris Guillebeau? I have benefited plenty from his writings as well, especially in terms of "manufactured spending" ie the "art" of spending/accumulating treatpoints without actually spending. I heard that MAS will be cancelling its flights to Amsterdam and Frankfurt soon so Enrich Miles will basically be useful only for London and Paris flights. Krisflyer/AsiaMiles henceforth?

QUOTE(tishaban @ Apr 13 2015, 11:07 PM) Yes thank you Gen-X for lots of good tips. Manufactured spend is a science, unfortunately not so easy to do cheaply in Malaysia. I've been on flyertalk for years and the tips there are a lot better than what you'd get from the typical blogger, highly recommend going straight to the source. My TP have been going to KF for the past few months, have not touched Enrich for awhile and won't be going back due to the devaluation Thanks tishaban for the pointer, I have lurked in flyertalk on and off. I like Chris' writings and would love to duplicate his feat of visiting every country in the world via 'travel hacking' (I've still got 75% more to go lol). I've stopped converting to KF after a poor experience on their A380 Business Class from JFK-SIN. Their seats were too wide and too short for me. Converted some to AsiaMiles but have yet to redeem any flights.

Chin said MAS' ending of the Frankfurt route effective May 29 is just the beginning of the shrinking of several more international routes including Dubai, Paris and Amsterdam, and the restructuring of the national carrier in its early stages should not be distracted by requests from "third parties" http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/busines...says-think-tank

If the rumoured downgrade of KUL-CDG A380 to 772ER comes true then Enrich Miles will only be good for KUL-LHR. Pity, was eyeing 4 award seats for the Paris route in September.

Same thing happened to me for my LHR-KCH flight in Feb. They credited me with 10,786 EM even though it was an award ticket. Must be a glitch, no way an award ticket will still earn miles.

There might be hope yet for Enrich Miles but in 2 years' time: Malaysia Airlines has signed an agreement to lease four A350-900s. The aircraft will be delivered between the fourth quarter of 2017 and the second quarter of 2018. The deal with Air Lease Corporation also includes an option to lease two additional A350-900s and two A330-900 neo aircraft. http://www.businesstraveller.com/news/1020...-four-a350-900s

Provide your Enrich membership number via the airlines' website. Double-check again on the day of travel/before boarding to make sure the number is in the system prior to your flight. I had to ask AA staff to enter the number again prior to boarding a few flights in the US. I provided my Enrich number via their website weeks before my flight but it was not in the system. Miles were credited in due course.
