Nexus 7 and s2 same dpi.

The shorter side of n7 is exactly same as longer side of s2.
1280*800
800*400

U feel not sharp? Ur n7 use matte sp while s2 clear sp issit?
Matte sp cause screen to be blur. Both device equally sharp. No different, same dpi.

But color of cos the amoled pownes the lcd.

Right n very much better than ipad mini which I dump after 2 weeks mainly due to this reason
Browsing, and downloads n YouTube was so slow vs nexus 7. It makes using it less enjoyable. It was worse thether with my note2

Nice to hear that you have experience in both device. Actually now i still thinking which one is better for me between nexus 7 and ipad mini coz the price different in malaysia is not much. I just want the wifi version. or should i just go for galaxy tab 2 7" that has phone function?

Do you need the phone function? Or you just need data function. If just for data, go for Nexus 7 32G 3G, 1049 only~

Hi guys.

Need some help.

I received my nexus 7 3g 32gb last week, and currently on stock software version 4.2.1.

My problem: Google Now works perfecty well on wifi, but does not work when I'm connected to Celcom 3g.

Using chrome, I am able to surf the internet, and search using google. But, when I use google now (the bar) via voice or by typing, I get the following errors:

"Can't reach Google at the moment" by voice,
or
"the web page at https.....might be temporarily down or..."

I'm using the following celcom APN:

Name : Celcom 3G
APN : celcom3g
MMSC: http://mms.celcom.net.my
MMS Proxy : 10.128.1.242
MMS Port : 8080

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Update: found the solution to my own problem. With the sim card in place, with wifi on, I could not access most google services like google now and google play. This was true with 3g disabled or enabled. I have tried clearing the cache, reinstalling the apps, rebooting multiple times; but with no results.

My solution, I removed my sim card and rebooted, and all the google services worked well with wifi.

They continued to work when I reinserted the sim card.

what have you done to cause it? The padlock is opened? tongue.gif Dun worry, not a big deal, just need to clear cache and dalvik or redo the flashing if you have just done a rom flashing.

How long have the startup screen been stucked? Sometime it may take a while to boot up after flashing a new rom.

Using Google Nexus 7 Toolkit.

1. Downloaded cm-10.1-20121214-UNOFFICIAL-grouper
2. extracted and put everything in the "put_img_files_to_flash_here
3. fired up toolkit and selected option 11. flash img to device. under one of the option I selected write to "system" , among the option was boot, bootloader, system and some others I forgot

I can get into Fastboot mode atm. But I am scared as ...

Maybe I am a bit off. since the Google with a padlock screen stayed for more then 5minutes. But the flashing took just like 5 seconds.
Is that normal?

edit: I think I am on the way to flashing back to stock JB.

*my heart stop for 5minutes just now.

Use recovery mode to flash custom roms as these usually come in full zip format. Simple n easy
Unless the rom is in img format which is rare you use toolkit
