Not many of you guys facing screen flickering problem? As I know its pretty common..good way to test is to set minimum brightness, get your wifi signal to be really bad, launch google maps, and just pan around a white background..mine is noticeable...
*
Haha, do we also hang upside-down, close one eye, and hold our noses in order to see the defect?

But seriously, if a problem surfaces in normal use, by all means complain. But to set up uncommon circumstances to cause the problem to happen...

Actually, other users have actually spotted this defect, but in more common situations. But it is acknowledged the N7 is not perfectly made, Asus had to cut some corners, hence this problem, the screen lift, etc. But it has a quad core processor with really good tech specs, so for a thousand bucks, it's still good...

Mine appears in much more common situations. Lowest brightness and when I'm in baconreader. smile.gif It only happens sometimes.

Shouldn't be a problem.

Just like broadband sim card (without call feature), you can also put in phone to use. At most you need to set the Access Point. Not a big deal. You can check for access point settings online nod.gif

Well, the only reason how I found out my unit is facing the problem is because I was under such circumstances, so it isn't that uncommon. Most people find they have this problem when they're reading at night and have to set brightness to low..and I'm pretty sure bad Wi-Fi signal is not that uncommon. That's not to say it won't happen in more common situations too...it just so happens I found out its easiest to cause the screen to flicker under such circumstances. sad.gif

Yup from newegg, in fact my second unit. First one didn't have any flickering problem, but have low power failure problem instead. Truth is, these are all minor problems, but I cant accept any problems from a new unit at all. I understand that Asus had to cut corners, so i accepted no rear camera, no 3g, no sd slot and all that..but manufacturing defect? Not acceptable..at least for me..

I actually do not expect much from the N7 especially after reading the issues from the early batch and the unsaturated screen colour. To my surprise, after i got myself a N7 on hand, i find it to be an excellent device for my usage - wifi is strong and fast, screen colour is nice and balance, speed is blazing fast.

I have just roughly checked those known issue and my unit does not have those defects, at least not that i can see with my naked eyes. Enjoying every minute. No wonder it is the chosen one by uncle Benny. thumbup.gif

Blazing fast yes. Even custom roms are only as fast as stock. Damn this is the only device where u can do without custom rom for speed. Nothing much to complain except for build quality.

You can't use 1280 x 800 because 1280 x 800 includes the navigation bar area. For apps, you need to consider only the available area. means 1280 x 800 deduct with the width and height of nav bar.

But I don't know the exact numbers though because I don't have nexus 7 tongue.gif
