Good to see that you car is fine. Just askin a few questions, how is the overall performance of the Waja Campro. Plan to get one also. Can u give me answers on its:-

A) Engine smoothness and how silent is it?
B) Handling?
C) Comfort (e.g are the leather seats soft? or is the air conditioner cold)
D) Overall Grading. ( On a scale of 1-10)

Thanks alot. Your answer will be much gladly received.
*
A.) I not sure about campro Waja, coz i driving the mitsu 1... But i did try Campro on Gen2(A) and Satria Neo(M). I feel sluggish on the engine or transmission when i shift gear.
B.)I am proud to tell u, u can go on corners with SPEED!
C.)Mine is SE edition. Comes with leather seat, not sure same with new leather or not but for mine, i feel kindda hard. I try on Perdana, very soft. Air cond very good, 3 year liao and i havent go refill gas, still cold!
D.)Overall, i will give 6.5/10. I wouldnt say it is a good car and i wouldnt it is a bad car. My car dun give me major problem but small problem like broken door handle and suspension rosak. I claimed all this within my warrenty. Now my car so far so good.

p/s: to save some trouble on going to service station and claim this and that. Get a Vios or City la... Just a piece of advice... Cheers!

Actually fully, semi or normal engine oil also should change at 5000km... But Mechanic ppl do tell me... If u use semi and fully syn, the oil still look "okie", thats y they all call u to change at 7500k or 10000 km... I use semi syn for 3 years liao... and i change my engine oil at every 5000km sharp.. Mechanic tells me my engine sounds "good" maybe because of this.

P/s: u spend 60K to buy this car... Dun save too much on service la... Unless u plan to change this car in 2-3years time. If use for long term, jaga a bit la..

Total agree with u... rclxms.gif

woah... 1 month can go 3k?

mine is slightly nearing 17k

perhaps another 3-4 months to reach 20k

really saves me a bucket load of money. just regret that i didn't opt to extend my 2-yr warranty to 4-yr warranty when purchasing the car last time...

lol, with my current travelling status, i think it'll hit soon.
2years enough for me. I still have like 10 months to go b4 the warranty expire. Then, brows.gif

hi guys.. gotta admit, this is my 1st time posting here.. thats due 2 the fact that i dont have a waja, n 2 be honest, i dont really like the styling either.. it having the proton badge wit all sorts of prob i heard from owners doesnt help me 2wards liking it either..

but, couple of days ago, i had my 1st go in a waja.. i get 2 have it 4 quite a while too.. driving long distance in town n highway.. the one i got is a 1.6 auto wit a mitsu engine premium model, wit the leather seats, wood trimming n stuff.. ive ride in it 4 numerous times b4, but never got behind the wheels until couple of days ago.. becoz of this, i pretty much know bout the space n ride n comfort n etc of the waja..

n guess wat, i was totally impress by it.. the 1.6 mitsu engine really pulls well, pick up was good.. i had fun in it at the traffic lights where it easily pulls away from the other cars, n it feels kinda effortless too.. the engine isnt a rev galore like a vtec, but it climbs up the revs quite nicely.. n i like the gearbox too.. quite smooth, n i like the fact that it changes down immediately when i put my foot down..

handling's quite good too, im guessing it must be due 2 the lotus tune suspension.. its not super handling, but its certainly far better than wat ive expected..

although everthin inside (switches, dials, stalks etc) feels cheap, but which proton isnt?? tongue.gif i hate the air conditioner, which seems 2 take 4rever 2 cool the car down (a nightmare especially during very hot sunny day).. n i hate the power window too, dont know y, but the sounds it makes when winding down or up feels terrible n cheap.. the seats r too hard 4 my liking too..

dont get me wrong here, im not saying the waja is a bad car, becoz im kinda amazed on how well the engine n the gearbox is.. wat im saying is, u can get a 2nd hand waja 4 under rm40k, n now im thinkin,y not?? i mean its considerably big inside, the premium model's quite well equipped, it drives quite well n its not very expensive 2 maintain..

in short, if im lookin 4 a 2nd hand car 4 under rm40k, id certainly consider a waja thumbup.gif thats how much im impressed by it thumbup.gif

one question though, ive only tested the 1.6 wit mitsu engine.. anyone care 2 tell me bout the 1.8 n the new 1.6 campro?? really appreciate it.. thnx!!

The proton waja 1.8 has stopped production already due to the fact that it is a renault engine and it has only an additional +6bhp from the 1.6 one. Spare parts are hard to find for 1.8 if got problem and u sure will regret.
The campro engine is quite sluggish and not as powerful as the mitsu version. You know la Cam-tak-pro. Though u can say it helps save minyak but performance wise, not to my liking.( Not enough pickup). The design of the campro also so so only. I'm driving a mitsu 1.6(M) even though alot of ppl say got problems..but to me not much cept for the power window thingy and aircon. Most of the stock parts i upgraded to japanese stuffs..to increase the reliability and comfortablity of the ride.

Just my 2 cents.

thnx 4 the explanation dude, really appreciate it.. ive heard b4 too, a couple of times people said the 1.8 is more problematic than the 1.6, i guess its true then.. btw, the campto saves fuel than the the mitsu 1.6?? really?? i never knew that..

If you're into modifying and performance... the campro won't give u much options compared to the mitsu counterpart. Can say for the family type person la. If u're looking for the need for speed. i'd say just get the mitsu one.

my waja 1.6auto wasnt as good as what u describe..... tongue.gif
although there's some little mod was done.... hehe
did u experience 1~2sec delay on downshift when u step harder on the throttle?

btw, if u really interested in waja probably u can get a manual version and bolt on a turbo
stock wise, the car is ok to drive if u are not fetching any ppl...
but when the car is fully occupied with passenger and going uphill , u will cry.gif

Your review is prety much same as mine as I was enthusiastic to buy a waja last year but after a thorough consideration, I turned down the decision. If you really want a waja, I'm suggesting you to get a new one, less headache as it's a new car.

nope, it changes down immediately when i step harder on the pedal.. n im pretty sure its stock, coz its my uncle's car, n i know hes not too much of a fan on engine mod..

nah.. if im goin 4 a waja, ill consider a manual but not the bolt on turbo.. i prefer 2 leave things as it is, maybe some light mods ok laa..

but i do think it pulls quite well.. its not the best car, but 4 less than 40k 4 a 2nd hand one, maybe ill consider if im ever in the market 4 that kinda budget..

waja 1.8 engine was the most troublesome engine I have encounter. My fiance use that car for 2 years. Infact most of the waja 1.8 owners agreed that the engine is not reliable.

Actually I am waiting for next year's good news. Coupled with thorough research and good advice from peers while looking for a loan that gonna affect your whole life, it's not really easy. Wish me luck smile.gif
