good luck! i've tried to D600's video and it seems good enough. just that one thing i have to complaint..why i cannot set the aperture in live view?? huhu me so sad sad.gif other than that, the video quality is nice. and being able to use FX and DX in video mode also is a nice feature thumbup.gif

u mean live exposure in live view? that is a 'feature' that d800 users complain about and want it removed tongue.gif

Hey, I heard the live view aperture bug might be fixed in an upcoming firmware update. Another fix would be to use AF-D lenses.

honestly, i use live view zooming to get precise focusing. on a D800, the live view auto focusing is SUPERB. but when it comes to zoom > manual focusing, even the 60D can win due to screen lagness. and i use alot of zoom > manual focusing when it comes to video sweat.gif

I'm still confused in what you're talking about haha  hmm.gif

So live view zooming is something the Nikon camera doesn't have as compared to Canon?
*
nikon does have it, but not as good as canon's. its minor really if one is not doing lots of video works, but if one does, then it can be a bit more than just minor.

nope, i meant the aperture value in live view smile.gif u need to turn off the live view to change the aperture. but from the post above, it seems that nikon is working on a new firmware so that's a good thing.

as we all know, the nikon's WB is a bit warmer than canon's. that's a non issue but if ur aligning the WB precisely, its better off to get an external monitor so that the value n color renders correctly. take note that im using K in any situation for video. as for the full HD output, the D600 is pretty amazing on the blacks and highlights. but i stupidly get flickers on it sometimes (this one due to user problem). low light, D600 wins. but i rarely use it in low light. if we had to, then large aperture lenses will come in play so means no crazy high iso is needed. in terms of sharpness, to my eyes, the canon is abit sharper. its a none issue.

this is just my opinion, and yes the D600 records pretty amazing video. just that i have to say the laggy zoom in live view n the fact that i cant change the aperture in live view turns me off. but hey, that's just me. oh ya, and the oil n dusts leak to the sensor prob as well sad.gif

for those who bought a D600 for video n stills, its one hell of a camera smile.gif

I'm new to video, kinda interested to know what's the differences in terms of live view zooming between the Canon and say, D600/D800?
*
from my previous experience w/ othere nikon DSLR video , live view zooming, not dat accurate or maybe I was holding in wrong blink.gif but on 5dm2 or 7D, its always dead on accurate MF on zoomed LV mode
