Hi guys, I posted the oil spot problem on my D600 a while ago and fortunately due to a work travel, I'm in KL and managed to send my camera to Nikon for cleaning and checking. They were shocked to see so much oil spots on it, and they said they'll do a sensor clean and I should be able to collect it today. Decided to call before heading out and I was told that the technician found a problem with my shutter and they are going to send it to PJ for further investigative work and try to remedy the problem. They did say, if have to, they will replace the shutter or mirror box. Upon searching what could be the cause, I came across this: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/post/50141626I'm quite unsure what the problem is because I was still shooting with it the day I sent it in with no problems. I'll keep you guys posted when I hear from them.

QUOTE(Everdying @ Nov 12 2012, 07:13 PM) most likely they're going to change the mirror driving unit. at least thats what they do for the D7000 which had similar issues. what is nikon doing i also dunno, 2yrs on since D7000 came out and they still havent fixed the problem on the D600. Thanks for the info! Any idea how long it will take? I'll only be in KL for the next two weeks before going back to Kuching.

Added on November 16, 2012, 11:21 amgood luck! i've tried to D600's video and it seems good enough. just that one thing i have to complaint..why i cannot set the aperture in live view?? huhu me so sad other than that, the video quality is nice. and being able to use FX and DX in video mode also is a nice feature [/quote] Hey, I heard the live view aperture bug might be fixed in an upcoming firmware update. Another fix would be to use AF-D lenses.

QUOTE(ongdennis @ Dec 13 2012, 06:59 AM) I bought it from ebay. Usd 19.99 n 2.99 shipping. I cant find it at Malaysia n also no source at sg, so no choice to buy from there lo. Most camera shops here sell a very similar product which covers both the rear LCD and top LCD. I think the brand is GGS, I got one for my D600 and so far it seems very very very scratch resistant.

I'm using the 35 1.8g on my D600 and it is WONDERFUL!!! Except....vignetting (which is expected) and it only occurs when your focusing on objects from around 5metres to infinity. Shoot close up and nearby almost no vignetting and being a DX lens...it is SHARP SHARP SHARP in the centre!!! Using on FX mode, not DX.

Yes it can. All G lenses can be used on a D3100 as it has a build in focus motor in the lenses itself. D lenses can't be used as it requires the screw drive motor which the D3100/3200 & D5100 lacks.
