imo...d700 vs d600 is about same consideration as say d3s vs d800.
comes down to speed vs mp...and if u got good lenses our not.

from my experience and my liking, use large aperture tele lenses, one uwa enough edi smile.gif uwa to capture to whole event, large aperture mid/tele lenses to capture the artist one the stage.

You have a flash? If no then pray there a follow spotlight to follow the artist

see la if the singing requires chris brown's kind of dancing, the high shutter speed, if no, then lower shud be okay smile.gif

i personally dont like to use flash on concerts.

Me too but sometimes you'll need flash for fill in, especially if theres backlighting or shadows under the eyes smile.gif

you may want to use the widest aperture available for your lens if its a solo and if you want to capture everyone you can start from f4 and above as experiment smile.gif
125th shutter for those bands that dont move alot just experiment around like what everyone says biggrin.gif

there is an unwritten rule for concert taking which is similar to portrait taking.
cutting off the instruments head is like cutting off the models hands.

for sports events no need filters. use lens hood and ok edi biggrin.gif

if landscape, an ND filter would be good.

landscape can use gradient filter, ND filter, polarize filter and CPL filter to allow the camera to capture maximum dynamic range of land and sky

sport event you dont need filter also can, maybe UV filter is you dont want your lens to get dirty tongue.gif

Doesnt have time to recompose since they move around the stage alot...unless you're shooting a static concert tongue.gif
