QUOTE(vv001 @ Jan 11 2013, 04:47 PM) actually our car dont really need boild water as our car wont get infected by bacteria, not like us hamans. However, our car need filtered water to filter off minerals and unwanted substance which may block the radiator and cause rust. Do you means distilled water is usable? Current when open my radiator, saw some green color liquid coolant.. So how do i refill it, just pour water in the radiator or to the coolant compound? Any expert can clarify this?

No No I mean filtered water is actually drinking water which are filtered by the filters we install in our taps. if you want to refill your radiator, do go back to your sc, let them do it for you, because refilling is not just pouring water in it only, it also required adding coolent liquid according to recommended ratio.

QUOTE(dvinez @ Jan 11 2013, 04:47 PM) yeah if can pls avoid, i got bad experiences too too bad tomorrow i need to go there to check my car, lack of time to go other sc. really so scare and worry lol, need to warn them to sayang my car but i guess the service advisor wont tell the technician oso Even when you tell that to anyone of them there, they will answer you "OK" or nodding their head abit without soul and passion response.. giving you more worries and anger also.. hahaha *true story* This post has been edited by Ah_Bear: Jan 11 2013, 05:27 PM

QUOTE(Snoopie @ Jan 11 2013, 04:32 PM) Ohhh.. My mileage now is 900km.. I heard add tap water not good for long run as it will spoilt the radiator.. But is this what usually people do? How do we drain out everything? Used it till empty? Shop dont sell ready made coolant where can just pour in? Need dilute wit boiled water mixed and pour inside? If got extra money to spend, drain everything at a workshop loo, but I suggest u just add boiled (cooled) water. But actually adding tap water is OK.. Cuz coolants have rust/corrosion inhibitors.. But at 900km, how coolant level seems very low.. Got leak?

Don't be naive ler ANY water will DO. Even you put distil water eventually the rust inside your engine block will TURN it back to rusty water. What you need is ENSURE its not dry (if its reducing tremendously mean something wrong with engine)

Its NORMAL where WATER will VAPOURISE, same goes to COOLANT....so from time to time you need to ensure water level is enough...like ur tires air

But only drive for 3000km++, the coolant level drop from F to lower than L. So from time to time, i only add water? Until 40k service only add coolant by SC?

So complicated, I guess just pour normal drinking water will do.. Thanks for the clarification

As the TAP water keeps evaporating the residue that remains... I would say not really that good.. Bet we don't want clogged up radiators.. =X

Thanks for the clarification I'll reckon to pour in a mixture of coolant + water 50/50. if the coolant is too diluted at a certain point it would not be transfering heat efficiently anymore. I previously used FUCHS coolant + mineral water / battery water. Avoid using tap water at all cause.. Unfiltered water might cause rust/small particle to linger around the cooling system. I bought 2 bottle of FUCHS coolant previously... got too much left to spare.. end up i use them for my water cooling system in my PC. Not bad! Sometimes from green it can even TURN TO COKLAT!!! that's what happen to my gurls vios when the mech keep topping up with normal tap water.
