blablabla OMG PAINTJOB IS SUPERIOR!

The second guy modded his S-F (head and torso are obviously from MG Freedom, long, sharpened hip guns) to make it look superior

Paintjob's superior because he used airbrush. No stroke lines = obvious sign of usage of airbrush

airbrush is the way to go huh..

ah, SF and freedom's torso's are slightly different. SF has got the golden thing in the center. is it possible to cr8 that on freedom's torso without making it look obvious?

hip guns. freedom's folds twice while SF folds once only. looks like stock to me.

and the head. i cant really tell but SF has got a triangle piece on the forehead. i guess that can be modded.

but now that im scrutinising it closely....dayemd, SF n freedoms got tooo many similarities.

won't much of help since don't think you have railway model chain we have over here...

I looked up on yellow pages and called one of shops specialising in building miniatures for archtectures and they told me to check out couple of shops and HobbyCo in the city had couple of these a.m.r.i. figures. There are more in this range like tables, chairs, and etc. all in 1/100 scale from what I heard from the shop

I suggest to try to contact one of those model/miniature shops in your area and ask where they get those small figures biggrin.gif
*
Thx man...a good source of info. Can plan wat diorama i can make when i got those miniatures figures

Crazy batshit hax Japanese people have insane amount of modelling modification skills. You do not question their superiority in customizing/modding/scratch building a part of a model kit they have.

The head's clearly from MG Freedom, he just changed the V-fins (make the peg/hole smaller/larger to fit in the new V-fins)

Even though its a HG, its still a 1/144. I rather wait for the 1/100. 1/144 kits are too small for me tongue.gif

and another example, SF:
Dalong's SF
and..
h3's SF
err, wasnt the real SF supposed to be fat? i dont know, maybe its just me, but i really think h3's SF looks so much better. like its been hitting the gyms.
*
back to this topic...did anyone notice the SF's waist weapons are completely different? dalong's SF is the original while h3's SF is longer...

If not mistaken, the h3's did modify the waist beam rifle.

ooh..scratch building??!! shocking.gif thats some crazy shit right thurr.. yeah ure right, i looked at the page translation , and indeed, most of the parts belonged to freedom!!

ankles, head, torso and the hipguns (yes i realised SF's guns are a lil rounded at the top, and clearly thats a modded freedom's guns)

huhuhu..rroooaARRR, nice skills, i definitely need some of that.

ps: the fella did a lil stg on the freedom too. now the wing guns can turn horizontal too, instead of just coming out 90 from the pocket. or was it like that in the first place. shrug.

the Oh-something Akatsuki huh? definitely nicer jetpacks than the shiranui akatsuki. no 1/100 versions yet? aww.

Why bother? Their SEED/GSD 1/100 line is made of smooth armor and fail. There's too little details on them (most of the time you'll get a flat surface with the same boring tiny panel line on each edge of the armor). I'd rather get 1/144 HG kits instead.

Speaking of which, the upcoming HGUC Zudah is a sexy model kit I must buy! BUY BUY BUY! BUY 3 AND MAKE A SQUADRON LIEK IN MS IGLOO!

Yeah I agree with you on the quality of the 1/100 kits. Sometimes I find that even the groove lines dont align well once you put the pieces together dry.gif . Nonetheless the 1/100 does have more details and a slight higher poseability compared to the 1/144 kits (though poseability of the newer 1/144 kits have improved greatly) so I'll try to get a hold of the 1/100 kits if I can afford them. biggrin.gif

Some of the HGUC kits certainly look good, but I'm unfamiliar with the UC timeline so I dont wanna get any of them. I prefer getting kits of Gundams which I'm familiar with, so that at least I can appreciate them a bit more. tongue.gif

Looking at various picthurs of 1/100 Freedom/S-F built out of the box over the Internets, and then looking at my MG Freedom, I have no idea why would anyone want a normal 1/100 when a superior MG's already around.

So you buy kits for sentimental reasons, instead of because you like their design? Hurr good luck in your crappy GSD kits. XD

Try watching 08th MS Team if you haven't already, it's relatively short (13 ep. OVA) and it's a nice departure from GSD's OMG SUPER LASER SPAMMING PWNAGE ROBOTS WE'RE ALL DOOMED! D:

After that, go read up and illegally download Advance of Zeta's manga. They're made of pwnage and win (I've never liked a Gundam design solely based on its design alone. Proof that Hazel's chunky design is superior)

Of course there's no denying that the MG kits are superior. In fact, I'm waiting for my MG Freedom from scorcecold once he gets it shipped back here from Japan. biggrin.gif

Sentimental reasons? Not really. It's more like you can relate to the kit, sorta like you know what it's been through, who's the pilot (emo kid or not lol), etc. But I wouldn't lie either by saying the design's not a factor. That's the reason why I started with the Destiny (loved the design on that one heh).

About AoZ, I'm afraid it'll have to wait until I have the time. Pretty busy lately, and hardly have enough time to catch up on my animus as it is. >_<

Then it's for sentimental reasons then >_> (I'm still waiting for a 1/100 Gaia to make a diorama of Freedom kicking Gaia like a dog in one of the episodes)

AoZ's not an animu. They only have a bunch of novels and some comics for it. Nothing else.

we all know SF's waist guns are shorter than Freedom. What I'm comparing is the waist guns on h3's modified SF and the standard one that comes with BanDai.

something like this tongue.gif

it can be seen clearly that h3's SF waist weapons are either taken from somewhere (highly improbable) or custom made

in terms of marketing as far as Bandai is concerned Seed/Destiny was total flop.

you may not agree but they only sold fair number of DVD but just not enough plastic kits to warrant the success. After all if Gundam line doesn't move the plastic kits then that line is considered to be a failure.

also many people who grown up watching the original Gundam are now in their 30/40 with disposable income and they are the driving force behind the Gundam sales in Japan hence why you will always see Bandai keep releasing the more expensive line ups in first/zeta Gundam era...

now in twenty years time when the people who grown up watching seed are in 30/40 we will see Bandai Namco releasing stacks of Seed MG/PG line ups - maybe... biggrin.gif
