To dj898, that's very good painting and finishing you did on your models, very impressive. I myself will be learning to do finishing work soon, hopefully...
(And woe to your Guntank, poor fellow...  cry.gif )
cheers mate
yea it's pity I don't have time to fix it at the moment... sad.gif

BTW, anybody here made dioramas for their models?
you haven't seen my diorama project have you... tongue.gif
it's now put on hold at around 70% complete - models are painted minus weathering and the base was at the initial arrangement stage when it was put on hold due to family issue... sad.gif

just some nood question about building the gundam models.
after finishing your gundam some of you did spray your model with the clear color spray to proctect the model right?
*
yep..
you can also coat in gloss for panel lining/decaling and then finish off w/ matt top coat...

Here's the parts of Zeta Plus C1 after I've done quick air brushing and top coat.
this kit was built when I had most of my tools stored away and couln't be bothered to buy another set of tools and what not so you can see I haven't fixed any seam lines... which I dislike a lot... O_x

I ran out of flat top coat so used glossy top coat that I have a spare - too shiny for my taste but don't want to do another top coat when I get the matt finish though...

more than likely I will assemble it and put it aside... tongue.gif
if I'm going to build another one or Zeta Plus A1 I will be doing some modification and probably make it into fixed MS with VmSWr eliminated for better posability

NICE...
you said about modifying mono eye...
you can use beam sabre clear beam part if you some for junk box...
slice it perpendicularly and stick on...

or get clear plastic rod and use it instead...

and here is comparison shots of two One Year War version - one finished in clean and another in MAX style shading.

two OYW

looking at them side by side this does look like good comparison between MAX style shading and clean non shading finish...

the clean one's I modified and painted for a mate of mine who wants his MS clean and shiny like just rolled off the production line. For me I like mine heavy in shadow as it gives the model depth and more 3D - not too mention it looks like it's been out on field for some time when I add the weathering... tongue.gif

well not as good as some of PG RX-78-2 I've finished recently.
After my mistake on first PG RX-78-2 I've tried another one but with minimal shading and inner frame painting...

1/60 Core Fighter I've shown is from that kit...
and then there's another one I'm thinking of painting in TTT (Adv Z) colour...

well had the spare spike shoulder armour from one of MG Zaku kit used for diorama so ... tongue.gif

besides I don't like idea of having the shield stuck on the shoulder - bit weird in terms of practicality me think...

there's HY2M LED head set for MG kits already...
modifying for LED eye isn't too hard - just matter of where to put the batteries so you can replace them later on and switch...

The question is rather...how to do it ???
shocking.gif
HY2M ? Whats that ?
*
you just need small size LED and button batteries.
and probably won't even need the resister

HY2M is Bandai's Gundam line where they product special version of kits for mature audience - read as someone with thick wallet. tongue.gif You'd heard of 1/60 scale Dom with numerous LED verniers? Well its' one of Glorious series from HY2M line. There are also 1/12 scale and 1/24 scale kits from HY2M and numerous replacement head kits with LED unit inside...

These were taken with my old man's camera - Nikkon 12 mega pixel SLR... and the backward flash unit that you can fire backward or toward the ceiling

the lens assembly came with the camera also has fully automated meter/spot focus with manual overide.. and other stuff over my head... tongue.gif

It takes 10MB TIFF and 4MB JPEG so I downsized JPEG below 1MB to post on imaheshack though kept the quality at the maximum...

what do you think?

Gundam Ready
Encounter 1
Encounter 2
PG Zaku II
