That's what I heard from guys who actually witness this illegal fishing. They use fishing lines and tied them to their legs (or is it the railing) so that it is not visible. Once caught, they release the fish, cause no way u can get away with dead fish without people smelling something fishy.

Some do it discreetly but not as bad as you say. They share the spoils with the company men etc. Same like govt kua. Want to open big biz must give cut to little naps then they will approve your permits. Taste fresh tho btw. Cos immediately catch and cook is quite nice, especially if make into soup. Hahahahaha! blush.gif

The fish would anything. Just spit, & you will see a swarm of fish coming over.

Resume is just a written statement of personal self and accomplishments in summary form for employer. If u think it will give an advantage, no reason why u shouldn't put it in there, provided if u think u learn anything in just 3/4 months time. If u think u r still 'raw', then perhaps leave it out, so that u can be treated as graduate who needs to work from bottom up, meaning less responsibility.

Ethically yes u should especially if u hav a good reason for it. Also, u do not wish ur 2 yrs exp goes to waste. Unethically no especially if u make a big boo-boo and cost the company a huge headache.

Then again (depending on ur age), I would advise just put it in cause HR may not be stupid enough to not question about ur previous work especially since u r already 30 and have no work since grads and become neet? Maybe just pray the HR won't bother to check ur background in the previous company.

Hi Oil & Gas Sifus,

I got an offer from Oil & Gas in a so called IT department.. but it is not really ITish if you know what i mean.. I'll be most of the time making engineering products, pipeline simulations and many types of oil and gas related simulation.

Where can I learn about Oil & Gas industry in a shortest possible period of time?
Is there a book that I can read?

I'm very new to oil and gas.. I need to know the overall structure of the oil and gas and how the industry works and blah blah blah.

THanks

If you value your time, don't waste it applying for them. They might hire you, but have no work for you. Trust me, easy to enter, benefits not so bad, but there is absolutely no experience to gain.

lol. Just one comment and u already jump conclusion. Suggest u research more and not from one guy who may heard it from another guy who have "history" with the company. They don't pay u high salary (not sure about this) + benefits (claimed to be not so bad) so u can sit ur butt on the desk doing nothing u know.

Well from your post I guess you just want the money right? Then you should aim for contractors. High pay, lots of offshore time.

I'm sitting right beside an SLB specialist now. He says that the hiring has slowed down much but still can apply. Two ways: Career fair ( mad.gif if your uni is sucks and they dun want to come) or hand directly to HR or online application (careers @ SLB). Try others like Halliburton and Baker. Which pays solidly well for jobs like logging, directional drilling stuff. Just keep in mind corporate progression may not be there with contractors if you fancy yourself earning huge bucks later in life wearing a tailored suit. Anyways for OnG, you have to prepare yourself to relocate to ulu places such as Kemaman or Labuan. Or if overseas then desert etc.
