QUOTE(vostro78 @ Oct 11 2012, 10:50 AM) simple, buy a umobile prepaid card at 7-11, subscribe the daily internet plan, test all the place u hang out often and check the speed test., currently umobile coverage = maxis as they share the infrastructure already. even at some city, umobile speed will b faster then maxis, mayb due to not much ppl using it so not that congested as maxis. umobile is worse than digi's edge in melaka.so base on my few months experience with umobile, if maxis no line = umobile no line. if maxis speedtest 5Mbps, umobile will b either around the same, or much faster! |

QUOTE(botakbin @ Oct 11 2012, 10:47 AM) Your post here has really convinced me. But i want to ask, in case of any problems or defects, My HTC is AP set - i just sent back to the shop that sell me and is FREE warranty replacing motherboard1. Can we bring it to Samsung Service Centre for repair? 2. Will they charge a lot? (For example for your HTC, how much did they charge?) I always advised my friends buy AP only from those with registered shops and established as service support is assured. There are now many 3rd party AP resellers who does not have any shop or service center support. They take a lower profit and sell cheaper and you just got to pray your set no problem. There are too many horror stories of such warranty claims from such AP resellers which gives AP sets a bad reputation. Some of these AP sets are directly imported from other countries on a batch basis through some grey importer and for such buy with care. Once the model is out and sales make within first few months, these importers just disappear and re emerged again when newer models are out |

QUOTE(sai86 @ Oct 11 2012, 10:43 AM) Do consider it b4, but i scare the lack of coverage, though only 1 fren of mine using it. you're in Klang Valley?but the rm28 for 1gb is really interesting. thxs for d reminder. and as most spoken, umobile i think will be late 1mth iinm. So far at the major parts in Klang Valley is 90% covered i can say. Never seen my coverage drop to Edge so far (minus the upgrading days) |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Oct 11 2012, 10:49 AM) Right ! U Mobile only if you are always in their coverage areas benny888... if you still have your u mobile prepaid... can test it out again? i read that recently (as in Sep and maybe even Oct), they switched to Maxis as their local roaming partner... coverage should have now improved even more -- i suspect that major towns/ cities are now very much covered. i seldom travel out of Klang Valley, so can't test it out...If you are always on the move across the country , you will curse U Mobile . Especially when you need your phone for work related matters at that urgent time , you have poor 3G coverage and you are unable to download your email attachments or sent out - you will really start cursing than. Sometimes these type of issues could mean a sales loss of several hundred thousands In their covered areas , I must say theirs download speeds is more superior than Maxis I used Maxis as my main line as anyway i go in the country, even remote kampung in Pahang and east coast i always has 3G coverage - it has never failed me unlike Celcom while Digi is the worst |

Some do have physical ones and some outsource to local technician while some grey importers just send back to factory for repair. |

QUOTE(Savor_Savvy @ Oct 11 2012, 10:49 AM) I think SME only accepts SME Malaysia sets, although i'm not so sure whether they will accept ap set or not, coz ap sets were imported from other countries. SME service centers will take in AP sets but everything is charged. eg reflashing a rom starting at RM 50 and service check starts at RM 30I bought an AP set ( galaxy S from one Lowyat kiosk reseller ). The phone freeze and cannot even boot into download mode - i sent back to him. 2 weeks later i called him and hear his grandfather story of how he needs to wait to accumulate other problem sets and sent one time to Spore to service ( apparently is Spore source set). One week later he said havent sent yet and if i want i can try to sent in Spore myself. I took back and personally went to Plaza Spura Service Center and set was service warranty FOC and got it back in 4 hours time ( motherboard check and rom reflash ). The Service center did not even ask for purchase proof and just by keying in the serial number it was confirmed Spore set and warranty period |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Oct 11 2012, 10:55 AM) My HTC is AP set - i just sent back to the shop that sell me and is FREE warranty replacing motherboard speaking of this...last time i recall... warranty period for SME sets... phone (display, etc) = 1 year; charger = 6 months; battery = 1 year (but a few pages back, recall mention of only 6 months now?!?) AP sets... some claim 24 months... but from what i understand... it could be 24 months for transceiver (whatever that means)... display = 3 months?!? battery/ charger could also be 3 months or what not?!? AP... i wonder if they would let us reject if got 1 dead pixel... so far, when buy from SEP, they do say I can reject... ya, i guess if really can't get over this 'taking a risk' thingy (similar to rooting and voiding warranty), then stick woth SME sets... |
