QUOTE(zimorok @ Nov 11 2012, 02:46 PM) your method is really helpful. they did reply me back in 24-hours and ask some question about my application. will update again once they sent another reply. Added on November 11, 2012, 2:52 pmwhat do you mean by ' port at their side'? i call my installer the other day and he said, he cannot find the 4mbps port at the DSLAM where my line in connected to. but he did test my line at said my house is capable of handling the 4mbps package. Port at their side i assume is referring to the DSLAM. Usually i think most users will provide their location/address to tmpoint customer service/helpline. Their system when entered with the provided information will usually return nothing. Maybe providing them with the service number*the tel no tied to ur streamyx* might yield a different result. Just my guess. Ur installer mention that it's capable of handling 4mbps means ur line is eligible for 4mbps. It's just that requires tm side to activate it only. Their RM140 plan quite attractive. one wireless modem and one wireless dect phone free.Though i'll still put the useless modem aside lol. And unlike unifi , if landed property during thunderstorm =.="...... no streamyx for you. Unless you want the thunder to come in through your telephone line and fry off everything.

After the last email i sent to TM, someone call me(yesterday-12/11/12) and confirm that my area did support the 4mbps packages. when i ask, why i call TM 100 they said my area does not have the required port, she reply me back, "their system is not up to date". i feel like laughing when she said that. lol. now, need to wait 3-working days for the 4mbps to come. thats what she told me.

Actually those tm helpline u call, they search by address not phone line number. So it's best to give them the number. Number will enable them to trace directly to their dslam database whether it's eligible or not. It's like tracing address on googlemap. Because malaysia's one street address got many type of name. When u try to search using name, sometimes it'll return nothing. But using coords, u can get the exact location. Ur one is 3 days . I was told 7 days. They just upgrade my line to 4meg without calling me. Was streaming pps today , suddenly line disconnect. For 20mins line status down. Suddenly check back connected speed becomes 4092/512 from 1596/256. But speedtest to KL.. download 0.99 and upload 0.33 .... I assume they change the port capacity on the dslam to be 4meg. But bandwidth wasnt adjusted from tm's server.

4mb if I do Speedtest. What is the minimum speed I should get? 380kpbs? If I get 340kpbs. Should I call to complain? Cause I can't watch YouTube HD720 Is very slow and keep buffering. I tried restart even with different IP is the same problem

A short weird story on VPN. VPN is a solution to tunnel your activity from your isp's traffic monitoring eyes. Like example u sent ur mail through tmnut post office. Before forwarding your mail, tmnut will try open up n peep what is inside. If it contains recipient to their wanted grp p2p. They will held up ur mail. Delaying it n slowing it or eventually they bring home the content for themselves. With VPN , u wrote ur mail in et language n it doesn't exist in any of our current language system. U send ur mail out to tmnut. Tmnut tries to open up n busybody only to scratch their head. They have no choice but to slam the mail directly out dissapointed. Ur mail gets forwarded to a recipient who understand ur et language. He helps u to properly decode everything before sending out to the true content to the true receiver.

Hey guys, I read the first post, so this means that not every house would be able to upgrade to 4mbps? The reason why I'm still with my 512kbps streamyx instead of upgrading to unifi is that I'm currently renting a house, which means that theres a possibility that I might move around often. The fiber optic installation is free for now, but when I move they might charge me in the future. So I decided to play it safe, planning to go with streamyx 4mbps. But after reading the first post...hmm...

It seems that the installer dude came to setup everything. He even login his tm account directly on my pc and update the details infront of me. But when he did a speedtest, he was surprised that the speed maintained at 1mbps instead of above 3mbps. Was told to call him again to arrange another appointment on inspecting my connection. =.= now i understand why they rarely introduce the 4mbps package. Seems like it isnt that easy to get everything hook up nicely lol.
