Am i suitable to upgrade to 4Mbps???

Just upgraded to 4mbps , but experience frequent spike and high ping whenever i play game(dota 2 etc) , I've try to restart and reconfigure the router(innacomm) to no avail , any solution??The ping is so high(200-300ms , sometime can go up to 400ms) that i can't even play the game

Yes , using LAN cable . and yesterday after they installed , my friend use the connection alone since we all(housemates) went out for classes and the speed is so superb and ping is reasonable , then after some time suddenly he experience drop in speed in extreme and the speed fluctuate , at night after we're all back it's abit slow too , even only 3 of us using , one facebook while two playing dota 2 and the game is so delay since the ping is high , we even go into experiment by calling everybody to get disconnected while i turn on dota 2 game in my laptop and the ping is so high ,

280 for upstream and 285 for downstream

I've no idea why my 4mbps suffer so much from high ping , especially when playing dota 2 the ping could rises up to 2xxxms and render to be unplayable
