HDCP is one of the feature that enable digital encryption support.
You can use either DVI or HDMI to play Full HD movie, either way is the same.

Have a look at this: http://tv.about.com/od/hdtv/a/hdmidvihdcp.htm to understand more about HDCP

U2312HM with 5 years warranty. Don't think u can go wrong with this. unless you don't like matte (AG coating on this monitor).
This monitor does not have HDMI connector tho.

may i have a review from you abt the monitor? very interested in the 27" variant smile.gif

the only downsides for me are the very minor backlight bleeding at the lower left corner, vga and hdmi instead of dvi and hdmi (my gpu doesn't have hdmi and i prefer dvi over vga), and the panel is wobbly when you wanna adjust the settings (doesn't feel that secure when it's connected to the stand). everything else is great wink.gif .

How much did u buy? How's the warranty with AOC? I am not very familiar with the AOC brand hmm.gif

Hmm 600+ for 23" but it's AH-IPS so it's better...Dell S2340L on the other hand is 580+ but it's glossy..hmmm dilemma hmm.gif

Depends on your needs, there's 27" 1080p and 1440p.

1080p is just the normal screen with enlarged pixels so you can sit further, same as 23", just bigger screen, that's all.

1440p on the other hand only IPS panel currently and they're on the mid-high-end side where you'll find the price is at the mid-high side (obviously). This type of panel only for enthusiast market for where people seeking for colour accuracy, the earlier model has input lag issue so it's not that good for FPS gamer, I'm not sure about the recent models (Dell mostly sweat.gif ), but you may Google their model number follow by "tftcentral" to find a good review on the particular model.

Good luck hunting. wink.gif

the 27" you want is 1080p or 1440p? there's less discussion because of the price of it for 1440p - around rm1.7k for dell. and not a mainstream now tho there's more and more ppl getting it.

size too big depends on the range of your sitting to the monitor, for me, it's quite an awesome feel on gaming (from 23" to 27"). sharpness is great (not sure what you mean, mayb blur out text?), and everything juz looks superb compare to my old u2311h. (mayb due to the heavy AG coating on the 23")

If ya goin for 1440p 27". Dell U2713HM won't be wrong for its price.

I have bought Dell u2412M, but changed for 4 times due to backlight bleeding.

Dell sent another replacement with higher spec (Dell U2413M), but still got backlight bleeding. So, I just let it go and use it anyway. ^^

The color output is absolute heaven.

Mind share how serious is your back-light bleed?
Just use a camera to take the screen at dark black, it should shows the edge bleed.

Dell have forward this case to manufacturer in China to have a look.
So, I'll use this monitor for the next 5 years (take 5 years warranty) and enjoy the rich color biggrin.gif
