i mean wont be going for 1600p. will gun for 27" due to the cost of 30" dell is juz far from my pocket sweat.gif
i was wondering that why my samsung 2030sw can still go for like around rm180 (which is juz +-rm100 loss) comparing to my u2311h depreciate value. might as you said smile.gif

waiting for takers then proceed to get another monitor. 4k monitor is juz way too extreme for mainstream atm.
*
Ah.. ok, "won't be" haha... doh.gif
You just sold your 2030SW for RM180? erm... hmm.gif oh well, you can try your luck, if someone desperate enough to get that monitor and no other seller at that price then your luck is there.

4K tech is still young and still needs other source to keep up with it, mainly the HDMI input tech, HDMI 2.0? (is there DP 2.0?)
Even the Full HD can take quite a toll on hard disk space, especially those archiving BD doh.gif 4K will be 4x as much shakehead.gif

I think for watching movie, doing desktop works or picture editing
as long as it is not gaming
30hz should be ok (in my opinion)

most movies are only 24hz anyway
and desktop works (surfing net, doing office works, reading docs) don't need high refresh rate

the fact is this 4K monitor is dam cheap
it can also do 1080p@120hz above
it also can do 4K@40hz if overclocked

600USD for 39 inches 4k is very worth

the asus 4K monitor is of course much better
but it is almost 6x more expensive
(it is also only 31.5 inches)

Question is, have you tried? Cursor movement itself felt like glue stuck at the bottom of it, unlike 60Hz. But then again, if budget is limited, you take what you can get.

Plus, I game close enough to appreciate the 32" versus the 39". 39" is close enough to 40" to be viewed at a certain distance, and to view them at arm's length, is awkward and requires head movement often enough to discourage me from getting one. The same thing with 3 monitor spanning, too much head movement to scan and see everything on the screen.

My advise. try first. Especially the 30hz/60hz refresh rate difference. Plus there's the panel quality difference, <whatever that 39" panel is> versus IGZO. If that 39" is anything like the Seiki's, PC Perspective has shown in their overview that it has tons of shimmering and edge noise, and this is further amplified when you're looking at 4K content. Low resolution masks these artifacts, 4K resolutions brings out these imperfections out front and center.

There are plenty of good 1080p60 monitors out there. But there is no model that can do 'no-blur' elimination. Forget about it, get the TV if 'no-blur' with XBox360 is really important.

About Samsung LCD (LED) S24B350H and S24C350HL...

Is the S24C350HL an upgraded version of S24B350H?

According to Samsung website, the screen size of S24B350H is 24". Is it exactly 24" or actually it's only 23.6"?

Many thanks.

ah, nvm. found it is only FHD doh.gif

any 1440p 27" monitor to recommend aside from u2713hm?

found few 1440p monitor, but i'm unable to scout it for the local price/availability :
Viewsonice - VP2770-LED $1k shocking.gif
Samsung - S27A850D $750
Asus - PB278Q $560

will be great if any1 got info. price search from newegg  sad.gif if too troublesome will aim back on 2713 instead.

will it be better to get deal from deal online than buying from lyn shop? viewnet state rm1799 w/ 5 yrs warranty.

Good read on those interested in 4K display. Article in question spotlights the Asus PQ321 4K monitor, its ups and downsides. The article also echoes my sentiments about the importance of 60Hz over 30Hz on a display this size. And I quote:

QUOTE
Second, if you are tying to decide whether or not a more expensive 60Hz 4k display is worth it over a 30Hz display, consider what you will be using it for. If it is primarily for watching 4k movies, a 30Hz display is likely just fine as most 4k movies are only played at 24FPS. For almost anything else, however, the 30Hz refresh rate is going to be very noticeable. One tool we've found to be useful for comparing refresh rates is the Frames Per Second website. Simply set the baseballs' FPS to 60 and 30 FPS, turn off motion blur, and play around with the velocity to see how much choppier a 30HZ display is compared to a 60Hz display.

Sure, if you wanna save up and deal with the inadequacies of 30Hz, by all means. 4KTVs are stuck at 30hz for the fact that they resolve video materials at those refresh rate or lower at 24 frames per second "film" resolution.

Again, everything on this article makes no difference if budget is an issue. You'll have to bear with the constant tearing, or wait until 4K60Hz panels drops down cheap enough for purchase.

There are 2 possible hopes right now besides really need to spend a fortune for 4k@ 60hz
1) Some guy has talked to SEIKI about 4k@60, they say they will look at it. (tiny hope)
maybe combining 2 hdmi ports to achieve a higher bandwidth is possible.
2) The guy that posted the OCN review seems like working on some kind of add-on PCB for Display port. (not sure how far it will go)

Anyway, I did tried 30hz on daily works (surfing web, writing papers, etc).
It wasn't that bad at all. Because everything is quite static except when you scroll. (But I don't except you can read much when it is scrolling anyway)
The only problem is like what you have said: the mouse pointer seems like glued and jumpy. (But that is also not a big problem to me, because the mouse is very small compared to the whole screen)

Of course the downside of cheap 4K TV (seiki or skyworth) is only 30hz (40hz if OCed), but you can always switch to 1440p @ 70hz or 1080p @ 120hz for gaming.
It has also built in android TV, remote and stuffs. And it also does 3D with 2-4 free 3D specs. Everything only comes at 600USD. That is a steal.

P/S: I am coming from 100hz 1440p monitor and I can accept 30hz for daily works. (I seldom gaming maybe thats why my eye is slow XD)
