windows 8 will be launch very soon, there is many new tablet, AIO desktop and ultrabook already introduce and target to launch together with windows 8. But I do not see any windows 8 certified LCD Monitor. Important criteria are capacitive multi touch screen & bezel-less or edge-2-edge display.

current existing model available locally are only optical touch with regular bezel design like acer, dell or hp. capacitive touch do have from brand like Planar, TRu/TRU-Vu but not popular available in our local dealer.

Anyone or any insider from famous brands like samsung, lg, dell, etc... please share if there is any leaked roadmap for next or next year touch screen LCD monitor if any. I looking for:
1. windows 8 certified
2. below 22"
3. full HD
4. USB hubs
mhl, wireless display or other additional features are optional, nice to have, budget RM2000.

need suggestion for monitor.
budget: RM900 or below
screen size: 24" or below
preferable Samsung PLS

that's right, samsung don't use IPS panel usually. the best panel for samsung Series 9 is using PLS panel; the rest lower end is either TN/MVA/PVA.

instead of Dell U2312HM which is matte screen, maybe you should compare samsung with Dell glossy screen, S2340L; since you prefer this type of surface coating.

what's your primary usage for monitor?

glossy screen is ok for you.
else, full time for working and edit in photoshop must get matte screen for sure.

simple, do monitor selftest.
just remove all vga,dvi or hdmi cable out from your monitor, then see the monitor messaging and the RGB color display. if ok then continue troubleshoot your cable and graphics card.

you already done all checking and confirm.

both models spec are very closed and similar, both also are TN matte screen. except the launch date for IN2030M is year 2011 and E2014H is year 2013. and IN2030M model target consumer previously and E2014H is target more for commercial. just pick which design you like

how about Dell S2740L ?

beside DELL; for me, IPS panel next choice will be LG.

ARB don't have Dell official warranty. may ask more from seller, can claim direct from Dell for 1 year warranty support? this model already EOL, only possibility left is old retail unit, must get official retail receipt; else gonna be trouble after sales if seller not reachable.

how about your budget for monitors?

not sure about other brand, for Dell, best monitor fit your budget, U2713H & U3014.
beside screen size, other different are:
1. PPI: 109 vs. 101
2. 16:9 vs 16:10
3. 8-bits+FRC vs. 10-bits panel
4. 2560x1440 vs. 2560x1600

if this is true, this seller just sapu all ARB unit from Dell Malaysia; dishonest and post it online without telling the truth to customer and bundled fake 1yr Dell Warranty. we should avoid this kind of seller.

ARB unit no warranty.

maybe all his customer who rated him, are lucky; none of them need to claim warranty. ARB unit doesn't meant are bad, some of monitors just a wrong order issue and return from customer, still as new as brand new but open box.

I never buy from there, let's who bought from him before to comment here if any, or you can check if there is any user comment/review.

of course, sure different specs. for me, S2340T is too over expensive @ RM2180
cheaper version of touch monitor, S2240T is 1.5" smaller size of model, other different are:

S2240T vs. S2340T:
1. response time: 12ms vs. 8ms
2. brightness: 250 vs. 270
3. contrast: 3000:1 vs. 1000:1
4. panel: VA vs. IPS
5. USB 3.0 downstream: NA vs. 4ports

the touch response time and thickness might be different but the touch type in general about the same, is 10 touches projected capacitive

Both Samsung and LG are also good but Samsung's price always higher and LG's price looks good but not many choice available. Other reason why most of ppl here looks for Dell because of IPS Panel, specially UltraSharp series, Dell highest end line (if compare with Samsung 9 Series price, will ). Samsung don't produce IPS Panel; LG Yes, and LG is largest main supplier for most OEM IPS Monitors. that's IMO....

when you buy Monitor, there is several type of panel, TN, VA, IPS, PLS, etc... IPS stand for In-plane switching, please google yourself if you want to know more or different across all these panels.

within your budget, you may consider Dell S2340L, IPS panel also. price get from ideatech listed here: RM559, you may PM them for best price.

and also Dell Professional Series: P2412H, non glossy screen too but TN panel, cheaper than UltraSharp Series. If HDMI is important but not found in U2412M, can search for it's successor: Dell U2413, add HDMI 1.4 but removed VGA. It's not only regular IPS panel but is AH-IPS, as result better panel in 8bits, 1.07 Billion Colors, better color gamut, better response time. Other connectivity different is USB 3.0 with 1 power charging port.

this model might be already discontinued. how about IPS234V-PN?

you prefer matte screen or glossy screen? budget or any requirements? Dell have S, E, P & UltraSharp Series.
