Hi Lex,

I had my 17' monitor, laptop, rig being plugged into the multi-plug on a single power source.

My rig has a 650W PSU.

I don't have an AVR.
Is that a multi-plug power strip, or one of those multi-plug brick? Usually I would recommend using power strips with individual plugs for each equipment. Best to avoid using multi-plug bricks as much as possible... wink.gif

Other problems on both the units are that, I am able to see thin vertical lines on the screen (as though every pixels are not pack together but being divided by those straight lines but those lines are colored slightly darker), and I was thinking might be because it is a 3D monitor, so I just ignore it.
Let me guess, you're using VGA connection? unsure.gif

QUOTE(MercurialA @ Jun 1 2013, 12:03 AM)
But what annoys me was the fade horizontal lines moving up vertically.
This one is without doubt bad inverter section (for CCFLs) and/or bad power to the backlighting (for LEDs). shakehead.gif

I wish to clarify with that issue before requesting for a change to another brand/monitor as I have lost my confidence on that monitor.
Perhaps its just a bad batch, as mentioned earlier. You may want to consider changing to a different brand/model... icon_rolleyes.gif

it comes with HDMI and my graphic card can support. I am using GTX 550 Ti.

Hi guys, need some recommendation for monitor.

Budget: RM400-600
Screen size: Preferably 23" and above, with HDMI

Currently using Samsung 19" flat screen LCD monitor, 3-4 years no dead pixels and never spoil before, so looking for something as durable as that.

Mainly use the monitor to play casual games like LoL, maybe some COH, browsing and watching HD videos.

Quick question before I head out to get a new monitor this Friday:

Dell U2312HM or Samsung S23C350H.

Both are IPS, and about the same price, just looking to see if one is better or are they both about the same?

Strange but I don't think the samsung S23C350H is ips..

I'm looking for a new monitor as well.

Thinking on whether to get IPS or not

that's right, samsung don't use IPS panel usually. the best panel for samsung Series 9 is using PLS panel; the rest lower end is either TN/MVA/PVA.

hmm.gif how would the Samsung stand up against Dell's IPS Monitor? I love the look of the full glossy-black Samsung much more than the matt gray of the Dell but if the difference between display types is too big I might reconsider.

instead of Dell U2312HM which is matte screen, maybe you should compare samsung with Dell glossy screen, S2340L; since you prefer this type of surface coating.

Be warned though, glossy screen is very bad if the light source is behind you. Like absolutely bad.

Apart from that, U2312HM has adjustable stand, VESA compliant, and USB ports. S2340L does not have VESA mounting holes and stand is not adjustable.

Not really worried about that since the windows are in front of my workspace and lighting is from above.

Do you have a suggestion? Asus ones seems pretty good.... hmm.gif

Could be bad backlight problem (ie. LED degrade?). If its still under warranty then recommend sending it for RMA. hmm.gif
