QUOTE(JustForFun @ Dec 1 2012, 01:45 PM) The glossy surface of the S2340L is notorious for it's largely reflective screen under certain lighting circumstances. However, the glossy screen does make the colors look more vivid/vibrant, some do however claim that these colors look too sharp, unnatural or fake. If there's constant light source going toward your monitor, I recommend you to avoid the S series (including the S2440L, over-reflective in my opinion. Opt for the U2312HM instead for just twenty bucks more. I second, go for U2312HM, superb colour. Once you look at IPS screen, you'll never turn back.

Go for U2312HM.
If you need HDMI connection, get DVI to HDMI adaptor, no loss in signal and quality

QUOTE(euphoriaa @ Dec 15 2012, 10:22 PM) say if I dont need HDMI, what would be the best choice? DVI to HDMI connector confirm wont have any difference compared to HDMI-HDMI? Confirm 100% Still if budget allows, U2312HM is a good one. go PM lingloong, he has good deal for this monitor.

QUOTE(djlah @ Jun 5 2013, 04:21 PM) instead of Dell U2312HM which is matte screen, maybe you should compare samsung with Dell glossy screen, S2340L; since you prefer this type of surface coating. Be warned though, glossy screen is very bad if the light source is behind you. Like absolutely bad. Apart from that, U2312HM has adjustable stand, VESA compliant, and USB ports. S2340L does not have VESA mounting holes and stand is not adjustable. This post has been edited by karhoe: Jun 5 2013, 06:44 PM

QUOTE(djlah @ May 19 2014, 10:41 AM) Current available IPS 23" Monitor models are: 1. S2340L 2. P2314H 3. UZ2315H (New Model) if you have luck, some retailer might have stock left for U2312HM (e-IPS) else, suggest add little bit more budget to get U2414H, it's just 23.8" I'd like the Ultrasharp series like U2312HM, any idea which retailer still has it? Cheers

QUOTE(djlah @ May 19 2014, 02:46 PM) no idea, maybe you can try luck at ideatech. Else, consider other UltraSharp models: UZ2315H & U2414H Currently already using 23inch, plan to add a second 23 inch, adding another 24 inch is just a little too off lol
