So correct me if I'm wrong....

Every statement max earn RM3k spend (24k TBP).

Redemption rate is 60k TBP for RM100 (let's say TNG reload pin, or Jusco voucher, all have same rate).

For ease of calculation (round number) let's say 5 months earn the max (spend RM15k, earn 120,000 TBP) - this can be exchanged for 2x RM100 pin.

So effective 'cashback' rate is RM200/RM15,000 which is 1.33%?
*
most people make use of Alliance TBP to claim for airmiles

if you want cashback there's better choices out there afaik

also every statement max is RM6K (3k ewallet + 3k online spending), so max 48k TBP per month.

Airmiles calculation a bit more complex but without any promo redemption I calculate as about 2.xx% worth (assuming enrich 4 sen per mile)?

For Enrich miles redemption, the ROI is around 2-6%. Can achieve higher ROI if you managed to get some good promo such as 20% Redemption Bonus + 10% Enrich discount

Make sure to check that no extra interest is being charged if you're taking the 6 months 0% promo.... they messed up mine
*

I applied directly via my credit card agent by submitting the forms

Not sure why Alliance don't have online sign up like Maybank or PBB

The 6 months 0% is a special promo i think that's why its not listed together with the usual BT plans

ok now I am getting really concerned.... decided to give a call to CS to check on the missing points

the CS claim the reason was due to me converting a 4k+ purchase (4.7k to be exact) on my virtual cc to instalment plan so this is eligible only for 1x points instead of 8x.... but the thing is the points are already there before I even make the transaction doh.gif

even if this is the reason, the limit for 8x tbp is only for 3k = 24k points, it doesn't make sense for me to lose 40k+ points doh.gif doh.gif

and I have proof from my March statement that I earned 40k+ tbp during that month alone

they say will check and update me within 3 working days

anyone encountered this before?

have to be honest here I haven't had the most pleasant experience with Alliance so far since becoming their customer on Feb... first the balance transfer interest screw up and now this. the CS are good but I just wonder what's going on in the backend....

im actually surprised they are able to pull off the whole virtual credit card thing

4.7k from Lazada. I converted to 12 months installment. Transaction was made on 26th March.

At this point I have total 61k tbp in my account, earned from my Feb and March statement. My statement is 12th of every month. Currently my tbp only left 22k

The purchase shouldn't affect my tbp at all

Unless there things here I don't fully understand yet

Since you only got it since Feb, which means 61k TBP is for the month Feb and March. Assuming you only have 1 card from Alliance, the max TBP you can get from 8x is 96k TBP (48k ewallet + 48k online) in that 2 months.

Do you mind telling us how much and how you paid on that 2 months?

Feb statement total = RM1604

March statement total = RM6236

I only use this card for ewallet and online spending

Gave another call to CS to follow up on my case

according to them the points are deducted for the installment beause any conversion to installment will deduct points UPFRONT from your existing points

once statement is released the correct points should be reflected back. This is such a weird mechanism to me and I hope it's true

The reason for asking is because instalment is x1 points only.
Perhaps if you convert to instalment then they no longer consider it as an online purchase for x8 points so the points was deducted.
Just a theory.
The points is awarded x1 per instalment so if you convert RM 6000 to 6 months instalment then you will get 1000 points in the first month.
Again just trying to figure it out.
