Sorry if this had been asked before. If using VI with Samsung Pay at a dining place, is it considered online, dining or contactless transaction?

First time using Alliance here... applied for balance transfer from my Maybank AMEX to my new Alliance VI. How come it creates a seperate account just for the bt? I thought it should go directly to my cc account?

QUOTE(MGTheChosen @ Feb 21 2025, 02:56 PM) I wonder apart from Alliance which other bank that does this conditional waiver thing PBB will give waiver when you call in and ask nicely. If you frequent user of the card usually will waive without conditionits odd but okay at least acceptable Sometimes they will ask for min spend as well |

Anybody used Alliance VI + Alipay in China before? Is it considered ewallet / ecommerce (8x) or oversea spending (5x) ?
What about topping up to Wise? This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Feb 23 2025, 11:39 PM |

QUOTE(Lego Warfare @ Feb 24 2025, 12:34 PM) Anyone knows if the VI 8x e-commerce/ewallet & 5x groceries/dining TBP cap at RM3k is allocated per card member? Or total whole account? If i have 3 other supps do they each get their own RM3k TBP monthly cap? QUOTE(jdachum @ Jan 10 2025, 07:17 PM) QUOTE(victorian @ Jan 10 2025, 09:48 PM) |

QUOTE(schoe @ Feb 24 2025, 05:59 PM) I forgotIn that case can only consider VI + Alipay or top up to TnG (10% fee) and just use TnG I'm more inclined towards Alipay option but just not sure is considered 8x or 5x If 5x then i might stomach the 1% fee for TnG to get 8x This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Feb 24 2025, 06:38 PM |

Anyone can confirm if paying for dining / groceries using Samsung Pay or Google Pay is considered 5x or 1x points? |

I'm new to Alliance, just got my VI last month but so far I've been less than impressed with the CS... it's an issue with my balance transfer. The call support is mostly ok, its just the incident management team that I'm less satisfied with....
So I've applied for a RM1k balance transfer for 6 months with 0% interest. When I got my application approved I saw that there's an interest of RM60+ being charged ![]() (Dont worry about the acc number this is already cancelled) So I gave a call to CS thinking this should be straightforward fix, just reverse the interest... how hard can it be? But in the end it took like 3 weeks to finally resolved the issue and they created a new balance transfer account for me But even this account also have its own issues ![]() ![]() Gave a call to CS again just now and the agent told me this is normal for the promotional 6 month 0% interest BT.... just pay the minimum amount or more than that will do. I honestly find it hard to believe the agent after what I been through and I'm new to Alliance.... this doesn't seem like normal for BT Is what the agent told me correct? |

QUOTE(mamamia @ Mar 14 2025, 03:42 PM) u should check what is the plan for this 0% BT, is it reducing balance, if it is, u just need to pay 5% minimum balance for the first 5 months, n settle in full in 6th month... How do I check? Need call CS again?Because I only applied for normal 6% BT that is eligible for 0% interest. Didn't spot anywhere mentioned 'reducing balance' |

Wanted to check regarding the Virtual Card convert to Flexipay option. Is this available for any transaction over a certain amount.... or is it limited to certain merchants only?
Wanted to do an online purchase on Samsung store but not sure if its eligible to convert to flexipay |

QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Apr 1 2025, 10:47 PM) So correct me if I'm wrong.... most people make use of Alliance TBP to claim for airmilesEvery statement max earn RM3k spend (24k TBP). Redemption rate is 60k TBP for RM100 (let's say TNG reload pin, or Jusco voucher, all have same rate). For ease of calculation (round number) let's say 5 months earn the max (spend RM15k, earn 120,000 TBP) - this can be exchanged for 2x RM100 pin. So effective 'cashback' rate is RM200/RM15,000 which is 1.33%? if you want cashback there's better choices out there afaik also every statement max is RM6K (3k ewallet + 3k online spending), so max 48k TBP per month. |

QUOTE(hihihehe @ Apr 4 2025, 03:43 PM) i saw the option for 12 months in online but not 6 months. The 6 months 0% is a special promo i think that's why its not listed together with the usual BT plansanyway, i submitted the request from website and within 30 minutes i got a call from them to fill in the form. hihihehe liked this post
