Hi, im new to this ssd thing. last week i bought intel 330 60gb ssd. Put it in my htpc pc. M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3. Now, things get wierd. The pc have 4 x 2TB WD Green running SATA3, the Intel SSD running on SATA1 port and benchmark is showing its running on sata2 spec. Even Aida64 reported that its on sata2. In BIOS, I'm using AHCI mode. Is there any setting i hv to tinker with or check? or intel do got 330series on sata2 controller?

I've done a little research and found out that the motherboard you've stated contains 5 SATA III port, there's no SATA 1 port or whatsoever. If you're saying that your Intel SSD running on SATA II even though that you've have plugged it in SATA III port, then I have to agree that's really weird, because the SSD you've stated are capable of running on SATA III interface. The only suggestion that comes into my mind is that try swapping SATA ports with your other Hard Disk.

Your motherboard specification:
M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3

Intel 330 60GB specification:
Intel 330 Series

Finally for determine whether you're running ACHI mode, do open your command prompt and type the following:

sorry for the confusion. Its sata port1..the physical port. Those are TRIM right? its running TRIM. The result is 0. I already swap between port...still the same. and for AHCI.... it is set AHCI in bios. Do i need to install this?
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/wind..._windows.aspx#2. Is there any chances since i occupied all the port, it downgraded the ssd to sata2 spec?

Probably the 4MB test data stayed in the HDD's 32/64MB cache, resulting in those crazy numbers. Try at your HDD's cache size, and a little smaller and a little larger.

Edit: Here's my Samsung F3 hitting its SATA 3.0Gbps speed limit with 4MB.

SATA will tend to perform better than mSATA because mSATA has less chips. There may be other variables influencing overall performance however.

mSATA is also not directly compatible with SATA, you will need an adaptor. If you have spare SATA ports, you should prefer to buy SATA. if your device has mSATA, then it becomes a possible alternative option.

Why of course,

PLEXTOR SSD M5S 2.5" 128 GB SATA3, 256MB DDR3 DRAM CACHE [Read : 520 MB/s | Write : 200 MB/s ] (No longer RM299 sad.gif )
PLEXTOR SSD M5P 2.5" 128 GB SATA3, 256MB DDR3 DRAM CACHE [Read : 540 MB/s | Write : 330 MB/s ]

Not to mention the price are roughly RM70 difference...

It depends, but some optimization are needed for me because my SSD (Plextor M5S) having issue of shutting itself before apply the optimization.
