How was the performance compare to other SSD since Samsung make the whole drive all by themselves.

Actually the best way to differentiate SSD is the controller right?

Guys, I'm looking at a few of the SSDs. Is IOPS important for us on daily usage of the drive?

I guess all brand of SSD will show no huge difference in normal daily usage right?

I'm looking for a 120GB SSD and I don't know which one to pick.

Intel 520
Samsung 840 Pro
Plextor M5 Pro
Corsair Force GS

My requirements and priority of the SSD goes like this, reliability > price > good access time > consistent read and write speed.

On daily usage, you won't notice the difference.

OS boot up time... all within the 30 seconds.

Loading apps... all almost the same.

Only doing benchmark see the difference. But you're not going to do benchmark daily right? that will burden the SSD as benchmark also stress the SSD to the limit.

So which brand you suggest me to take?

Plextor M5S 128GB SSD RM 287 @ Jayacom

cheap, reliable and stable. And the best part is you get extra 8GB space compared with 120GB SSD

I built a IB rig for my friend and I was using 128GB M5S also. I think I'm better off with M5Pro or Intel 520.

coz was researching for 120gb SSD ++
256gb is too exp for me.. my budget is around rm500
so i think i should get 128gb m5pro
*
I was in dilemma too. But since M5P gives 5 years warranty, I think its the best at the moment.
