Very odd routing, from SG to JP and back to SG. Hmm.... one of the backbone in SG kaputed perhaps? Doesn't make sense. It should be cheaper to retain the traffic within SG rather than going all the way to JP. Very odd.

how can it route to JP?? coz of use thier pipe or wat? intern of cost saving? any1 know?

weird..... turn a big round the word only come back to sg ? i dont rili think it is cost saving...

Is anyone here playing League of Legends flying spaghetti monster? The ping in game for me has been quite high, around 150 (it's high when I'm used to not having any delay) for 2 weeks+ already and few days ago was 350+.. Previously when I started using Maxis about 3 weeks ago it was still okay, around 40ms, which is normal. The next week it jumped to a constant ~150ms all the time. So obviously is not my problem but Maxis's.

I did a tracert to the LoL flying spaghetti monster server and posted it in the flying spaghetti monster forums they told me the route went from Malaysia to USA to SG.

Why does this happen.. I posted this issue in the Maxis forums but the staff there reply other topics also don't want to reply mine.. Is there anything I can do about this ar? Really cannot tahan already..

EDIT: Why does G-a-r-e-n-a gets translated to flying spaghetti monster? X.x

Well, if Maxis has already invested in capacity on Malaysia-Japan and Singapore-Japan, their network planners might just use whatever that's available to route our low-end traffic via them instead of buying more direct routes. Otoh, if some high-value corporate customer has issues with this, then maxis will jump!

Called them last night, talked half and hour, asking me troubleshoot here and there, plug and unplug, off and on, waiting he to ask technical guy.. When he ask me off and wait 15mins and call back, i straight away scream on he, WTF you ask me call back, you know you line how busy???? Finally he created a case number and ask me wait 48hr to get a replacement.......  mad.gif  shakehead.gif

What replacement model i will get? Better one?

The troubleshooting step is just pure stupid doh.gif Everytime i called, they always say the same thing. They think we are noob or what
One day I was so angry, I just screamed to them and wallaa...they come and replace the router. 2 weeks waiting time

Depends, they may give you refurbish thomson or new Technicolor router...I got the new technicolor

Can anyone confirm this.
My buddy told me that the RM118/mth 10mbps plan promo from June is only valid for 2 years. After that, the price will increase.
Info from Maxis call centre staff.

Mine will install tomorrow. A bit disappointed because they read wrongly and instead of my request for 30mbps, they registered for 10mbps. Oh well, was thinking of getting the max since I will be getting 50% off from OKU discount but might as well just use it and see if its necessary to change at all. Its not that I need 30mbps, but at least wont worry about breaking the 100GB quota.

Just gotten my FTTH installed. I get the 784n v3 since it was for 10mbps instead of my requested 30mbps.

I dont need any username or password for the 784n. Weird...

Must request public ip for torrenting right?

**Found that using XunLei can overcome this limitation.

Added on December 13, 2012, 6:43 pmSo fed up with the router. I think this is definitely in the running for the worst ever gui for router.

Any opinion of custom router that would do individual bandwidth limiting like Asus N66U? Too expensive for me. Anything from TP Link?

Speed to 10Mbps usually happens off-peak time.

I did a speed test and it was 10mb. Just that these links are slow. Was wondering if I go throttled. But the speed is going back up. Guess it was some network congestion....

Throttled speed within peak hours... good work by Maxis to allow other users to have fair share of bandwidth.
Cannot be tooo greedy
