Since changing to gogle DNS... the surfing experience is excellence. I'm not into online gaming very much... but do play ipad air supremacy online... has not seen any problem yet... so far so good... already 2 months with Maxis FTTH.

Ping is now back to normal on BF3.
Not sure about Dota 2, haven't tried yet.

Yep better ping to Singapore server... previously above 300ms... now around 80-150ms..

By the way... regarding Maxis IPTV... the broadband package more resembles TIMEdotcom broadband package especially on the free boost part. Do Astro used TIME broadband instead of Maxis?

Just wondering... how hot is the thomson modem... I keep it on 24/7 & place it stand up not lying flat... never notice any heat or warm from the modem.

Will this solve the high latency issues?

However this few days I got great latency speed to Singapore.

Just bought a PS3, I'm reading this thread and seeing that maxis fibre is bad for gaming.

I'm still under private ip but have no problem playing games online like FIFA13, Virtua Tennis, Gran Turismo and NFS Most Wanted.

Is it OK already or it only affected to some game title?

This works!!! Now... how can I apply this to tab & phone on wifi?

QUOTE(joellim @ Nov 17 2012, 02:10 AM)
TS, please add this to the first page.

For everyone who is trying to change the DNS, please do not use IPV4 DNS anymore. Maxis Home Fibre has switched to IPV6 therefore using IPV4 won't work.

When going into Internel Protocol, choose the:

Internet Protocal Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)

Then key in a public IPv6 DNS for Preferred DNS and Alternate DNS. Example Google Ipv6 dns:

2001:4860:4860::8888
2001:4860:4860::8844

OpenDNS IPv6:

2620:0:ccc::2
2620:0:ccd::2

Hope this helps. I tried to change to 8.8.8.8 when I first got maxis home fibre but i couldnt access GutterUncensored (if you can visit this site means you are on an uncensored DNS, not Malaysia's heavily filtered DNS). Finally after trying unsuccessfully using many public DNS servers, I thought, what if Maxis has upgraded to IPv6? Straight away I key in google public DNS and voila! all the "censored" websites could be accessed openly and no more government filtering!

Just wondering... can't we bring the device to the maxis instead waiting for them to come? Since this is a spoiled device not related to the home internet connection.

Goodluck bro....if u ask nicely they will never come to your house and give replacement
I just get replacement yesterday after 2 months of complaints...last 2 weeks i keep pressure them to come and it worked

Nope... when I registered back then... they say the fee remain even after contract ends.

QUOTE(Cowhide @ Dec 12 2012, 08:53 PM)
Can anyone confirm this.
My buddy told me that the RM118/mth 10mbps plan promo from June is only valid for 2 years. After that, the price will increase.
Info from Maxis call centre staff.

Is it because the torrent got more leechers than seeders... I'm able to get around 500kB/s max when leechers are a lot and max at 1000kB/s whens seeders are much more than leechers.

Same case here. Torrent max at 350kB/s  vmad.gif

I can't seem to access certain websites. It's been blocked by maxis. Tried changing my pc DNS to 8.8.8.8. But it doesn't work.
How to bypass this? Kindly advise.
