QUOTE(lucaswjk @ Dec 10 2012, 05:21 PM) we all know oversea pipe required $$$ i think trunk to spore is the cheapest for us, but im still scratching my head why they route it to other country my speculation is... maxis is buying some cheap pipe from Japan but they can't used up their volume... hence to save cost rather than using premium some pipe... they route it there this is all business afterall... in this case, i confirm all gamer r going to stuck this way until the contract expired wow they contractt 10 years mah die

Yeap latency for games is pretty terrible at this point. Getting constant lag spikes from Guild Wars 2.

Any idea if Maxis is expending their Fibre Coverage?
Mutiara Bukit Jalil still does not have MAXIS Fibre coverage but there is already UNIFI coverage. Its been 6 months I have registered for interested, and it seems as if nothing had been done by them. Half a year is more than enough if anyone would like to finish their job

Just visit the maxis forum to see how much unresolved complains there are and most of the issues are not new issues but issues right from the start till date. We as users still need to pay full amount for crappy service for dunno how long more, sigh.

It should be at the same line as UNIFI. For moment my area has UNIFI only, but the problem they have is the price. 10mb for RM199 is costly and this price has been the same for years. The price should have been depreciated long time ago.

hello i just got my maxis fiber optic here today comes with hua wei modem and technicolor router, please pardon me for my newbie question, so here's the problem, the line was smooth once after the installation was made in the morning 12pm but when i tried accessing the internet in the evening approx 4pm i somehow always come across the page being unable to load. anyone know what happened? problem 2, so after that, i decide to switch off the power and switch it on again, this time, the eco light on the technicolor router seemed to wont turn green after 5-10mins+. and only turned green after i tried to replug in all the cable to both modem/router again. so after that i tried switching it off for the second time, and the same thing happened. any idea what's wrong with it? . would like to try fixing it myself instead of waiting endlessly for maxis. thank you for reading and answering this newbie question. Hi, may I know whether it is a must to change to public IP in order to do port forwarding for the Thomson router? Cos I managed to add the port forward rule via the web interface but my nat setting for games is still strict... anyone?

Just wondering... can't we bring the device to the maxis instead waiting for them to come? Since this is a spoiled device not related to the home internet connection. When he ask me off and wait 15mins and call back, i straight away scream on he, WTF you ask me call back, you know you line how busy???? Finally he created a case number and ask me wait 48hr to get a replacement....... What replacement model i will get? Better one? This post has been edited by feizaiII: Dec 12 2012, 10:50 AM

Look at all my stars!!

I am currently using Unifi vip10.
Since its cheaper to go for Maxis 10mbps, thinking of switching to Maxis.
But dunno the speed and service good or not?

QUOTE(HaVoC @ Dec 10 2012, 10:19 AM) This is the reason why the ping is so high: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « The router might have SOME effect but I doubt you can get very much faster if your connection routes to JAPAN to reach Singapore servers. I think Ronnie should put this as a warning in FRONT PAGE to prevent gamers to use Maxis Fibre. Anyone else knows if VPN solves this? Very odd routing, from SG to JP and back to SG. Hmm.... one of the backbone in SG kaputed perhaps? Doesn't make sense. It should be cheaper to retain the traffic within SG rather than going all the way to JP. Very odd.
