At that same point of time, I tried streaming fullHD youtube clips and I recieved full speed at 10mb. That's hardly fair then. Why should streaming be prioritized over downloading?

Agreed. I don't think they are really throttling the speed, more like I hit a bottleneck for international connections...

Lately maxis connection suck big time! Did the speed test and only manage to get less than 2Mbps! Anyone facing the same situation?

I googled and found that the V3 is actually a ADSL modem + router. I also got the V3 and very disappointed with the lack of option.

However, since I have used Unifi before, I must say Maxis must be limiting downloads from Hotfile, or any other file sharing site. It cant even reach 100kB/s. Now compare that to my Maxis Mobile, it can reach around 120-150kB/s for the same file. Smells fishy... I really felt that Im lucky to have them registered me for 10mbps now instead of my requested 30mbps. Really limited.

Downloads from other major sites like Google Drive is good, but also hit a max at 500kB/s. Not complaining. It can definitely reach the maximum speed but only for torrent like my friend comment. Im happy as long as it can torrent fine.

Technicolor v3 even worst.. How come it will go sleep mode by itself? All light off except the power light and wifi down. Wtf..

I just installed FTTH and given Technicolor router, and honestly speaking I'm pretty surprised by the performance of the router. It's actually quite decent but lacking advance settings to configure blocked sites, QoS etc. However it was managing itself quite good. Even the WiFi signal is pretty good. It is definitely good enough for sharing internet connection but not so sure when heaving file sharing is involved. I was on heavy torrent on my PC via lan, app store updating on iPad via Wi-Fi and play store updating via WiFi. I'm still gaming online while all of these is ongoing. The only complaint is high ping and private ip.

Yours wont light off?

The only time I notice mine lights turned off, was 2 minutes after power on...it turns off all except power light, which turns blue for 3 seconds, then all back to green again. Seems to that once every time i power on the router.

I thought it was normal since it didn't affect my usage in anyway. I notice if i disconnect all wifi devices connected to the router, the wifi led turns off, but the signal is still there. I connect a device again, the wifi led turns on back. Different behaviors on this v3 router.

Called Maxis to ask when Maxis + Astro IPTV will be ready. Maxis people transferred me to ASTRO but in good manners. When called Astro, the operator is damn lan si! Like eat full sell pau aka work dont work also not her business. Astro = ASS Tro!

try do a hard reset and reconfigure the router? better get down all the internet and voice login details before doing so..

Check the wireless setting. I think there is a power saving/reducing mode. Maybe yours is ticked? Mine isnt.

guys, y some of the website cannot be opened? i want to watch movie online using www.putlocker.com but page time out? maxis banned this web meyh?? n realizing some others also cannot access. just install this evening n got the Huawei HG850a tm modem n Technicolor router. any suggestion??

No.. is not ticked. Everything when lights is off, need a restart. Have arrange maxis for a replacement unit again later.

aik how come u guys can access? mine is problem loading page. its like blocked already. i used google dns also cannot. not used also cannot. this is freaking weird. aiyo want to watch movie also cannot. this site is the most awsome

i know, astro cust service is very down la for me this year... never reply on FB comment and when called, i read a lot of their comment that their called are not being entertained, and cust service is being rude.. they need their staff to differentiated between work and personal life.

If you are using Thomson v3, you need to set ipv6 DNS server on your network card configuration instead of IPv4 DNS server. Refer how to do it on page 1
