well, i'm not using at hardcore cooler. my GC is 7900Gt using stock fan, it reaches up to 58 degree in room temperature full load. so i change the cooler to zalman fata1ty-fs V7 and the temperature drop to only 45 at max full load in room temperature. air con room 40 degree. currently at OC speed 550Mhz/1600Mhz. ^^

QUOTE(akachester @ Feb 11 2007, 09:55 AM) So, this means that by the time i wanna change to the 8series, i will need to change my cooler as well? not necessarily.the stock cooler should be adequate enough for the heat the card's been making. for me, unless i wanna do some overclock or cannot tahan with the noise of the stock cooler, it's not worth wasting my money with a 3rd party cooler. |

QUOTE(coolmast3r @ Feb 12 2007, 04:38 PM) not necessarily. What i mean was, if i bought a cooler right now, can i still be able to use it on the 8series card.Cause i already bought myself a cooler and wondering could i reuse it in the future on those 8series...the stock cooler should be adequate enough for the heat the card's been making. for me, unless i wanna do some overclock or cannot tahan with the noise of the stock cooler, it's not worth wasting my money with a 3rd party cooler. |

[In aircond & Sidepanel opened Just imagine the temps while the aircond is turned off... idle at 68 degress, now "that's hot!" -paris hilton btw i think the core was designed to stand that high temp even at idle so there should be no problem, otherwise they shouldn't release (or produce) the card itself in the 1st place. |

The stock cooler is fine, what your opinion of an "acceptable" temperature is will differ from the next person so in the end it's up to you. Sure, if it's cooler it might conceivably have a longer lifetime, but the difference is not enough to affect most people since you'll probably upgrade before the card gives up the ghost anyway.

Yo guys is anyone using cooler for 7900GS? What's the OC performance increase after change?
I considering to get a Zalman VF700CU to replace my leadtek cooler (which is oredi bigger than reference cooler for 7900GS) |

@vey99
if u go with zalman, better get VF900CU cuz VF700CU not capable of expelling heat from new graphic card. VF700CU are more intended for 6series |

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Feb 13 2007, 09:52 AM) Watercooling? I think you can afford it la.. I am drooling for your 1k W PSU!! rich fella!I already watercoo my processor and it already cost me near RM1000 Another watercooling kit for my 8800GTX is gonna cost me a bigger hole in my pocket. QUOTE(vey99 @ Feb 13 2007, 11:07 AM) Yo guys is anyone using cooler for 7900GS? What's the OC performance increase after change? I think stock cooler for 7900gs is good enough. I just bought a Colorful 7900gs. The temp is ok ok if you ask me unless your room temp is real high. Dont get the VF700CU else you will regret. Like said by other forummer, VF700 is more for older cards. Not good enough to cool any of those 'new' cards like x1900 series or 7900 series. By the way, the pricing difference between vf700 and vf900 only RM 60 or 70. Better spend that money for a fan controller and more fins I considering to get a Zalman VF700CU to replace my leadtek cooler (which is oredi bigger than reference cooler for 7900GS) QUOTE(vey99 @ Feb 13 2007, 04:36 PM) moderno is selling it at RM165 or you can get for RM170-180 from lowyat plaza. PC Zone or Sri Computer. |
