QUOTE(sHawTY @ Jan 23 2007, 05:39 PM) No, it does not come with a fan... They gave u a choice to choose a fan to you're liking, either a bling bling fan, silent fan, or super fast fan... Hey sHawTY, considering the fact that you have a bulk for zerotherm, actually how good do they normally performs?Comparison between those Zalman heatpipes version and as well as those TR ones? The zerotherm one really looks very interesting...

I am currently considering a good aftermarket GC cooler to replace my stock Galaxy 7300GT cooler (its not a zalman one) but i do not have any good suggestion on my mind.I had been thinking of getting the Zalman Fatal1ty FC-Z9 VGA cooler but i am still wondering, is there any other good options around?i for one would really love to have a great cooler that not only performs good, but looks great as well.
I know that TR is one of the best VGA cooler around but i am not so much a fan it.Anyway, besides the TR, is there any other great GC cooler around that performs well (and hopefully looks good as well)?I had started to really like the Zerotherm GX810 but i cant really find any useful reviews lying around.Anyone knows how good it is?And considering the fact that its relatively cheap (from Shawty's bulk), i feel it would be a good buy if it performs better than the Zalman at least...

QUOTE(irangan @ Jan 28 2007, 01:57 AM) IMO, Zerotherm GX810 is a good buy and its performance is on par with Zalman VF900CU but lost to Zalman FC-Z9 due to lower fan speed. So you seriously consider getting the Zeotherm, cheap and nice. O..ok.But i must try looking for more review on the Zerotherm to be really convinced.Cause the Zalman FC-Z9 isnt that expensive either.

QUOTE(irangan @ Jan 28 2007, 10:15 AM) but with zalman fc-z9 pricing, you better get a TR HR 03 then buy a cheap fan to place on it. hehee... lol..you are right as well.Let me do some research first on the Zerotherm before making up my mind.Anyone seen any review before? Anyway, would the Zerotherm GX810 and the Zalman Fatal1ty FC-Z9 works on 7300GT?I didnt see any 7300 in the compatible list.. __________________________________________________________________ Edited: Just done a research on my own regarding the Zerotherm GX810 and it seems that it aint that promising as well.Test shows that it lost to the Zalman VF-700 LED but might be due to the low speed fan of the Zerotherm.Still didnt see any result on full speed of the fan yet.Now i am in doubts..lol... http://www.tweaknews.net/reviews/gx810/index5.phpThis post has been edited by akachester: Jan 28 2007, 12:41 PM

QUOTE(irangan @ Jan 28 2007, 03:12 PM) i am quite sure that zalman fata1ty can fit 7300gt but not sure about Zerotherm. should be not a problem. thanks for review. hehe. lol..I dont know why most VGA cooler website will not state whether it support the 7300GT or not.Even Zalman never state them as well.I am sure the Zalman FS-V7 will fit but havent had any idea about the FC-ZV9.Since you say that it will fit, then now its up to the Zerotherm one to make up my mind..lol...Anyway, i had already enquire shawty about it. Hopefully i could get more convincing review on the Zerotherm first before making a purchase..I really hope it can fare better than the review i posted up earlier.Loosing out to the VF700 is far worse than what i had expected... Added on January 28, 2007, 4:00 pmOK..i just notice another review which compared the Zalman Fatal1ty FC-ZV9, VF-900 and the Zerotherm GX810 and by the look of it, i am loosing my faith on the Zerotherm. It looses badly to the Zalman (even the VF900).Man, for once i wanted to get the Zerotherm so much without bothering the performance..lol... http://www.tweaknews.net/reviews/fatal1ty_...oler/index4.phpThere is a temperature testing graph there that you could refer... QUOTE(Doom @ Jan 28 2007, 09:09 PM) The reason is most manufacturer would not think that anyone using 7300GT seriously would require an additional after market cooler..... in most of the aspect u won't need to unless u are using a really restricted airflow case or extreme high OC activity ... maybe u could try to google the layout of ur 7300GT PCB against other NV card that has same layout to determine whether ur card is supported or not ... Ok..Is there any special case that i should remember in making sure the specific cooler can fit my card?Cause from what i see, the Fatal1ty FC-ZV9 almost have the same layout as the Zerotherm GX810.Would emailing the specific support team able to answer this kind of doubts?THanks..

QUOTE(irangan @ Jan 30 2007, 01:11 AM) IIRC, 7300gt and 7600gt lay out is quite similiar. try to compare both of that card. if the layout and the mounting holes is the same, this means that those cooler can fit on 7300gt as said by Doom, sending an email to those manufacturer is the best. I have already send an email personally to Zerotherm. If they say that it will fit, i might consider getting it instead of zalman or TR.Not sure why but i think i really like the design.Design always come first in my mind.lol...But from the review given, performance seems its going to be a letdown..

QUOTE(Kataro @ Jan 30 2007, 08:11 PM) maybe you will get good performance after you get it...who knows... reviews might not always true, sometime there might be some other thing cause the reduce in performance...just my opinion lar... Hope that might be true.Anyway, i just got a confirmation from Zerotherm that the GX810 will work on 7300GT (but the picture shown as example has a different stock cooler), so i might be getting it soon. Now considering the option that i have...

QUOTE(Kataro @ Feb 1 2007, 09:48 AM) If you get that cooler, let us know the result... Just got the GX810 from Singapore. My friend help me bought it there..Will be getting it this coming CNY and "HOPEFULLY", it can help me lower the temperature of my stock Galaxy. Its really getting very hot at 56c Idle at 550/1500.. EDITED: Just wondering, would current after-market GC cooler will still be suitable for the new 8series? This post has been edited by akachester: Feb 10 2007, 10:17 PM

QUOTE(Doom @ Feb 11 2007, 01:05 AM) Most aren't but surely as time flew ... there would be more and more cooler ..... that can fix on 88XX series ... So, this means that by the time i wanna change to the 8series, i will need to change my cooler as well?

QUOTE(coolmast3r @ Feb 12 2007, 04:38 PM) not necessarily. the stock cooler should be adequate enough for the heat the card's been making. for me, unless i wanna do some overclock or cannot tahan with the noise of the stock cooler, it's not worth wasting my money with a 3rd party cooler. What i mean was, if i bought a cooler right now, can i still be able to use it on the 8series card.Cause i already bought myself a cooler and wondering could i reuse it in the future on those 8series...

QUOTE(DaRkSyThE @ Feb 18 2007, 10:52 PM) seems alot like the Zalman VF 900. but if im not mistaken, its performance shud be significantly better according to some review i just rad a few days back Well, i have seen a few review especially the one on tweak-town(IIRC the name) that said the performance isnt anywhere near the Zalman's but i am not pretty convinced by that review.Actually i bought this together with my cousin. He got the lower end GX710 for his 7600GS for about $43 while my GX810 cost $60. Hopefully i will have sometime in these few days to assemble it and try out the performance...

Just got the time to assemble the Zerotherm on my 7300GT and it does look gorgeous.Way bigger than my old stock Galaxy HSF.Didnt have the time to upload the pictures as i am still at my hometown. Will do so when i got back to KL..
Anyway, these are the relative result i got on the Zerotherm. To be honest, i dont really know how to do testing. All of these temperature i got from the Nvidia Ctrl Panel. If any of you wanted more accurate ones, do let me know which program i should use and what i should do..lol...
These are the results using Zerotherm GX810 using the supplied silver TIM.Will change to AS5 when i get back to KL :
At stock speed (500/1400) :
GX810 IDLE - 47c LOAD - 52c
Stock HSF IDLE - 53c LOAD - 58c
At OC speed (550/1500) :
GX810 IDLE - 49c LOAD - 54c
Stock HSF IDLE - 56c LOAD - 60c

QUOTE(toughnut @ Feb 21 2007, 11:27 AM) OC load temp seem comparable to zalman VF900. can't wait for those pic cuz i'm still deciding whether to get this or not btw, enjoy holiday first. HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR !!! lol..i cant really compare it to the Zalman cause i dont have them.Actually my cousin also bought the GX710 and he told me the result had been relatively good.A couple of degree cooler than the original Palit cooler on the 7600GS... For your information, i got the GX810 for about RM145 while the GX710 for roughly RM100 from Singapore but its almost impossible to find it over there now.The supplier told my friend that its kinda hard to find it there already..Might need to wait... QUOTE(irangan @ Feb 24 2007, 04:26 AM) If you want, probably I can loan you my zalman vf900cu. it is collecting dust in my room because it is not suitable for my x1950pro lol..good idea but wait till i got my time on it.Not really interested in getting any parts out right now before my new mobo arrives.Too many assignments to do... Anyway, why u keep that Zalman away?It cant fit or not good for your ATI? The ZEROtherm might be one of the easiest cooler to be installed on a GC as far as i can see.All you need to do is poke the screw into your GC PCB and screw the other end..And you are done... I posted that before but not really tested it in comparison with the VF900.But way better than my stock even with fan running at half speed.Cant really control the speed of the fan cause this have that thermal controller thing that makes the fan run faster when its hotter....As my 7300GT come with only 2 pin fan connector while the GX810 run on 3 pin, i couldnt force it to run fan at full speed all the time using Nvidia Ctrl Panel...

QUOTE(vey99 @ Feb 28 2007, 08:30 AM) Is the cable long enough to plug into the mobo 3pin? Sweet cooler, looks great. Whats the noise level like at full speed? I wonder if you can fix the speed of the fan via fancontroller... Yes, the cable is very long.Roughly about 10cm if i had not mistaken.Well, i never tried it with a fan controller before though.Maybe i would give it a shot after i get myself one.Since i had never push it to full speed yet, i still cant give any oppinion on the noise level but currently, its very silent and you wont hear any noise after you close the side panel.Even with side panel opened, you still hardly hear any noise..Definitely more silent than my Zalman Fatal1ty CPU Cooler for sure...
